I find it funny that those chaps had got no idea who they have just met, and living in the midlands the chance of me bumping into you is very remote. Great video.
Sarasota Florida USA finally found your videos not to great with technology to find link from your son channel where I have been fascinated by you this is my first video you keep me smiling and the laughter is priceless thank you for sharing 💞
Hi there Sarasota...I know what you mean about technology,I can't even spell App....Glad you enjoy the films...there are over 1000 in the playlist, including some Vintage ones from the Florida Keys where I spent far too much time years ago, sometimes 3 times a year, mind you the dollar/sterling rate was better then !!...
It was a bit manic but it all turned out good in the end, especially as it was only a few hours session after an all-nighter on one of the main Carp lakes.
Always entertaining Graeme, makes me wish I was over there somewhere wetting a few lines trying to catch that I've never caught before, well except for the Carp, but I still enjoy catching them anyway, doesn't matter what size they are, always a good scrap. My old man cut my teeth on carp fishing, up around Chicago in the Des plaines river, mid sixties. Anywho, good stuff as always mate!
Not a newcomer to fishing by any means but having moved to a new area and located a couple of new venues to fish and not having used the method feeder before, I think this will definitely be part of my fishing armoury. Thanks for another brilliant , informative video Graeme.
Thank you for more than the entertainment!! The knowledge alone in invaluable!! You make us feel like we are there!! More important you make us feel like we are a part of your family!! Thank you!!!😎👍✝️💜🙏🌎🕊️🕯️
You are all part of the Totally Awesome family..(I have no friends that's why I fish and film alone..sniff) And I do try to talk as though the viewer is right alongside me...I don't have to bow to any sponsorship pressures so I can make the film exactly how I want....I wouldn't want it any other way.
just fantastic angling and some great advice for all levels of anglers.Just such a great watch well done keep doing what you're doing and ill keep watching thank you.
Hi Graham I'm sick to death about hearing about Carp it seems the way forward now a days I fish for silvers roach pearch chub etc if I latch onto a Carp all well and good but fishing isn't all about bloody carp!!!
Oh dear Graham I think most of us can only dream of catching that many fish. The main thing I can take away from this video is that I must snap the end of all my rods before starting. Keep up the good work . Dave B Chichester West Sussex
Thanks Graeme - looked like a great session. It seemed that you didn’t weigh the one you caught whilst chatting to the guys onlooking - so unless you guessed it, I think you actually caught more than you thought!
Hi Graeme, awesome session the alarm didnt stop. ive forgotten my match net so many times when fishing for a bit of fun. if you pull the bottom of your carp net upwards thru the gap in the spreader block if makes it the main net alot more shallow and easy to net the smaller fish. might be worth a go next time the match ent evades you haha
Method feeder is by far my favourite way of fishing for carp. So far my biggest fish on method feeder was a 12lb common. (caught on a 6lb main line). It can be really exhausting though, I remember having a session where during 6 hours I caught well over 50 carps (between 2 - 10 lb), my arms were completely knackered.
Get proper carp feeders or use normal carp rods with method feeder and alarm. It will help your arms. I do carp fishing on a method feeder too but after a while I change from quiver tip to either sturdier feeder rod or carp rod .
I think majority were Commons...I did actually wonder if they are the predominant species of Carp so that is why they are called Commons ?. I don't know. The one type I rarely see now is the Leather Carp which I understand was bred by the Monks to make them easier for cleaning,as they kept them for eating. We got them 50 years ago but they seem a bit of a rarity nowadays.
When I'm fishing fairly close in with the Method, I like to use a decent sized bodied, self cocking, stick type float, so the feeder is about a foot over depth & the float is more interesting to watch rather than just looking at the quiver tip. (of course, the quiver tip is not then required)
@@TAFishing so true. My favourite lakes there are whitepost or Ash. But for some reason that peg always catches well, especially down the edges on bomb or method.
This is my go to feeder setup for carp used it for barbel also on slow flows. I like to use tuna and krill mix with dark halibut pellets they work a treat I put some small pellets in the mix also. I went to a local lake one day everyone was float fishing corn any no one was catching two rods out and I had 15 carp 3 double hook ups
Nice one, graham. Good to see some different content. Who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks eh. Think that Fukashima was a brown fan tailed goldfish .🤔
Thats a great tip Graeme tip lol lol sorry mate cant help having a chuchle, great video but oh what fun, this is a deadly way to fish, mind your drive home mate, all the best.
‘Ere Graeme, great fun video …. the snapped tip notwithstanding 🤦🏻♂️. On that subject, if that rod is an old JW Avon Quiver ( which it looks like ), I have a tip section in the loft for it. I had a bizarre accident with the butt section and couldn’t bring myself to bin the tip. You are most welcome to it if you like.
Blimey..there are some left who remember "churners"...I thought I was the only one old enough. Youngsters must think we were all completely crackers. And bottle tops for indicators ?? They would have us sectioned with all the fancy gear around now..A bottle top for indicator ??
Your rods are old school my dad has few of them he uses it to fish for everything, took him cat fishing he was using the said rod, dad can that rod handle a cat fish” dunno I soon find out” he catches a cat fish and brought it he laugh and goes this rod is ace. His was a blank he added the rings and tied cotton on to the eyes
Is a great method, excuse the pun. Actually I have had many over 20 and a few 30s on the method. Its certainly a great way to fish if you fancy a busy time on some waters.
Thanks so much for sharing sir, I really enjoyed watching and learned a lot . On the feeder is it necessary to have rod pointed upwards may I ask. Thanks mate.
Not at all, most anglers would keep the rod low to the water ,but I just like to be different for filming, and as you can see it makes no difference. As soon as I hear the words "you must put the rods such and such" I automatically ask "why" ???
Mainline cell is 1 of the most popular and oldest boilies and has been put in lakes all over in large amounts. Cell is coconut and carp have a sweet sweet tooth. I use the method for alot of my big carp fishing as is pretty much the same Presentation as a soild bag and can be cast into weed and pretty much anywhere.
Another Carp angler once told me there can't be a water in the UK that hasn't had cell cast in it. I used the 8mm's only yesterday at Bonds Lake at Bury Fisheries for a few hours after an all-night big Carp session...happy to say once they got on it it was rod bends all the way. I only packed up as I was so tired and had an hour's drive home.
@@TAFishing yep every lake I have been to cell has been used and I've used it myself for other species aswell. Should try mainline essential cell its pineapple and coconut mix (high impact range) and yellow in colour, fish do have a sweet tooth. They do the expanders you like to use as feed in cell flavour. I know that feeling tired tonight as was on my local gravel pit for a day session today and the carp got a taste for my cc moore odyssey and soild bags. Tight lines
One time I was Float fishing and had my Rod pulled-in. Another Angler kindly cast his Ledger Weight over the rod's cork handle and gently pulled it back to the bank. I was amazed to find that guilty culprit Carp was still hooked, so I landed it! 😁
Thanks for another great video Graeme, Would you be able to tell me where this is, I have a friend who hasn't fished in 8 years and is in a wheelchair. I see you can park at your swim in this video. Thanks in advance for any advice. I am based in Wiltshire.
Not far away from you. Its called Todber fishery. Access friendly, and huge tackle store, toilets, snack bar etc. Staff in the shop will point you in the right direction .Pick a day when its not too windy as the lake I was on is a bit higher ground. Its near the village of Todber...give them a call, they have a website and its just a regular day ticket. Good luck with it.
No,its cooked already I think.Might want a bit of bran with it,or some flavour additive if that is what you want, but don't mix it too wet. Try damp first as you can always add a bit more water later. Just give it ten minutes to absorb moisture.
JW Avon Quiver truly the best rod ever created. I currently dont have one as i smashed my 3rd rod in the car boot again. Im a cluts. So will be hunting around for my 4th to add to my smashed collection.booo
No I did it literally yesterday after another all night Carp session. Forgot to pack the quivertips so use 2 1/4lb Carp rods. Just got to be a bit careful playing the fish, but they still produce a good take. Exactly the same,8mm pellets on Bonds Lake,Bury Fisheries. Think I hooked 10 in 3 hours, landed 7 so well pleased.
Also another question Graham sorry ur left over ground how do u keep it fresh as I’ve tried to keep my left over ground bait in a sealed tub but it always goes funky on top like off is there something I’m missing been fishing two years after first watching ur videos such a good channel to get started and still learn thanks
Plastic bag, tighten it so no air and put it in the freezer..as you say leaving it a few days can result in some strange happenings in the bait tin or bucket ! Make sure to get it out of the freezer the night before as it will take quite a while to thaw out.
Most of mine come back on the hook, but you can put the hook point through the band to retain them. But I know what you mean. I wonder when I use bait threads when fishing beaches....Was never about years ago. Could use cotton.
Amazing video as always mate! But I think it's just me that doesn't say lake names like there's something abt telling ppl abt my fav lakes that arnt fished loads
No I seriously don't know the name..Its only at Todber Fishery, give them a call, they will know the exact name and probably peg number as well...no secret squirrel stuff, its just a regular day ticket water . All their lakes are good . I don't think I have fished there in the winter though, but it might be a good place with a mild spell in colder times.( I hate the cold now the bones are getting creaky).
There is a distinct smell with Cell, and they have been around years...I could never make out what the smell was but I think you may be right, sort of coconut aroma to them.
This 4 inch ready rig I think are from guru. Personally I don't like their stuff aside from the feeders. Midy rigs are better. The hooks are better too.
It would be amazing if that method feeding would work in the sea, all those fish to be caught and released. 🤔👍 Unless it's a really good mackerel, then I'm going to eat it. 😃
These are some top secret tips you sharing in here, yet there will be still people throwing bags off boilies in thet middle ot the swim when fish are at their feet
I was out filming yesterday and got more takes in close than I did with the "standard" way of casting towards the islands ??... I had a rod out and a rod in,and it was the margin rod that got the most action.(Carping)
I try to avoid "tackle ramming" wherever possible ,and I think the majority of our viewers appreciate that. Its more about helping beginners get a few more fish with either end rigs or techniques. They can always go into their local tackle shop and ask them what products they would advise getting.
Keep up with that basic feed! What the Fukushima! Is that fish?....keep up with those perennial principles that are above and beyond as aesthetic archetypes , any persons inclination.. for greatest decent angling satisfaction... leaving no footprint behind..on the landscape...two rods going at once.???in those conditions?..with those heavy weights??.....fish welfare! Way for world is .. steady evolution...rather than immediate revolution!
Could be a new one for any vegan anglers ?? I hate Brussel sprouts so they are welcome to mine..Wife still puts them on my plate at Christmas..total waste of time for me,though my gran used to make Bubble and Squeak with them which was marginally edible...
Electric cars🤔 🤔Global warming, environment destruction, food shortages. Just to many people in the world taking to much. If there where less people, we could all eat a Cow a week. 😀 and drive gas guzzling cars with no impact on the environment.😉
9lb hooklink was the norm for match fishing when after Carp so it doesn't bust off if it touches the lip of the landing net ,its how the manufacturers produce them in packets,I never tied it,it was ready made. It won't make a scrap of difference to me using 6lb onto 9 as I can't break 6lb with my Avon or match rod,let alone 9lb !!. We have a film up on the playlist illustrating how little pressure is applied with different fishing rods. Might be worth checking out.
