My 9yr old stumbled across this band on her search for island music to connect with her Samoan heritage and this is her fave song. It brings back fond memories of listening to their songs as a kid well my mum really. Funny my daughter and I don't understand Samoan fully though...my bad...but the music transcends even our lack of fluency!
Your not alone. I for one was born in the states but the inner Samoan yearns to learn more/speak/understand more of our culture, even if it means through song. Stay blessed and keep in touch with the language. Seems like it’s dying in our youth and I can be the first to admit it cause I’m living proof of it lol 🥲
You grow up not really paying attention to these songs that the oldies played but the older you grow you come to appreciate songs like these and can do nothing but reminisce about those who have gone and left us over the years
Remembering my parents, aunts and uncles playing this song during family functions…I really miss those days being young listening to these songs with my parents
Fafetai elders in a way this music connects me to yall spirits for those who left us as we are rhe Adults today raising kids as you were raising us!!!! ❤
