It was surprising when he lost and then the heel turn to beat James Storm who surprisingly beat Angle was great. Now Sabin was champion for a month who shouldn’t have won to justify Option C 2 years in a row where Sabin cheated to win as a face. Eli Drake would have been a better choice where I get what you were talking about as far as just picking someone. I wouldn’t have picked Roode or Sabin though.

I agree with Joe on Guila. I'll get heat for this but here go.... She got the push that Hana would've got if she didn't pass away. Guila is a smoke n mirrors. Outside the hardcore bumps like Piledrivers thru tables, getting thrown in the crowd as knocking over chairs like bowling pins. Can't stay in the ring and have match. Always has the ref whispering in her ear to rell her what to do next. Basically being directed, that's soulless wrestling to me. Opponents have to out their way to make her offense look strong ex: opponent nails her with 6 forearms to neck and no sells, but drops her opponent with one forearm. She always faces the tippy top of the card workers and when she faces the mid card the matches are mid and the mid carder out works her, but she'll win. She gives me Japanese Charlotte Flair vibes... you know, very plays wrestler. Perfect that tin can be warehouse in Orlando called the Performance Center. Last but not least, overrated because of her looks. If she was knocked kneed, bow-legged in pigeon toe with love handles and cock eyed no one would give a 💩 about her. But being exotic looking a DECENT in the ring they overlook all of her shortcomings bell to bell.

I get and agree with you guys about where Swerve and the world title stand right now but I don't think this is down to Swerve. Joe's reign is the one that did the damage to the titles prestige. Not because Joe isn't great but because everyone knew it was a short term thank you run for a veteran. That coincided with the world title taking a backseat to alot of other stuff. Joe's defences (Hook & Wardlow) felt midcard. He didn't main event ppv. I actually think Swerve has done quite well in rebuilding the standing of the title in the short time so far but there is still long way to go. This Christian stuff is an ok start but then you got Forbidden Door which isn't really ideal ppv for world title defence. He needs to move into the Elite stuff as that's the biggest thing on the show and I think he will. They been planting seeds for ages now The big problem, which you also touched on, is Ospreay. Either they belt him up but basically kill Swerve before he can really get going (All In is too short of a reign for Swerve). Or they don't belt up Ospreay and potentially miss his moment

The problem has always been that you need to build an actual business in order to have guidelines/standards. They haven’t built hardly anything. Most of the people associated are independent contractors. Most of the people associated are only interested in making a paycheck.

Been dwelling on something for a bit AEW is more Plot Driven than Character driven, and that’s a major problem the company has. Most of the great wrestling feuds were character stories. Japanese wrestling is more character based. Far better then plots dealing with devils and Authority figures
