There's more than meets the eye when it comes to the effect flavor of Lycoris Recoil! MUSIC - Prologue / Kei Morimoto Epilogue / Kei Morimoto TWITTER - / tudousimu #weiss #weissschwarz #wstcg
The extra steps you took to edit the video really shows how much you care about the show and the show references you mentioned were really interesting! Great video👏
My locals was super desperate to get me into this game, I'm more of a vanguard and yugioh player but we do business and they wanted me to join them for Weiss so I agreed to buy the last set of lycoris recoil playsets (minus promos) and give the game a shot. Well after playing with the deck I felt like I owed it a shot and actually watched the show to find one of the best written stories I've ever witnessed. Glad to see they put a lot of love into this set,but damn do I wish alot more scenes were on cards now hopefully we get a 2nd set to fill in all the missing moments and characters
Really nice vid! I like the analysis you did of how they represent their personalities through their main colors, in this same vein I would even extend the flavor to the other Chisato/Takina cards in yellow/choice, where the effects may seem a bit different from the one's you brought up, especially the 24 Choice deck, but even that I think has its legs. That whole brigade of cards is based around climaxes depicting peaceful daily life, so the level 1 Takina specifically caring for the whole cafe for her effect makes sense, that is her peaceful daily life. Giving them all a "choice" trigger is also very sneaky since making and giving choices is kind of a crux of the story later on, everyone has a choice to make as the final events come to a close. And even that choice finisher, the -soul one also works out, Chisato/Takina is working at the cafe, the intention being to protect and preserve their home, so what better way to do it than to heal and subtract soul
Flavorful card effects is an art form by itself and thank you for making this video. Hopefully you do this for other series as well. Also the only bad thing about this set is the lack of Mika card...so no Mika waifu deck :(
I am a big fan of flavorful effects in WS, even if they're not as powerful. A set that has some really good flavor cards as well is Overlord Vol. 2. The 3/2 Ainz combo is spot-on with the sheeps/killing characters/having to wait a turn because of Super Tier magic. The Goblin flute being usable only twice, and bringing out the bigger Goblins the 2nd time is also sublime.
