The Flowers Of Edinburgh - a reel in G Major tabbed for mandolin and played by Aidan Crossey 

Recently I've been revisiting tunes that I've overlooked at points when I should have taken more notice of them. Such as The Flowers Of Edinburgh, for example. Early on in my playing, a friend recommended it. I tried playing it from some abc that I found and the tune just didn't gel with me. Fast-forward many years and I dug the tune out again, listened to a few versions and gave it another lash. Either the tune has improved mightily over the past umpteen years or there's been some sort of disturbance in the force or - more likely - my playing has come on a little in that time to the extent that I was able to make the tune speak to me after a few plays-through...
