The fact that Ray stood there perfectly still without changing his facial expression at all was what made it so funny. I have watched it so many times and Ray's reaction still makes me laugh. Funniest episode ever IMHO.
Whoever wrote this script should win an award. This was one of the funniest plots I've ever seen and each cast member played their part flawlessly. This sit-com will be remembered for years to come.
A couple of guys came to offer a shower to me this evening. In getting me to the shower chair, they dropped me on the floor, injuring my right heel. Now I'm inagony!
One of the funniest episodes ever. Wish you would have showed Robert when he takes her back to her apartment and finds out how right Raymond was about her.
@@benjiarehart2878 my cat chases flies to the kitchen screen door in the summer and he catches it and HE EATS IT! I always think of this episode when I see him do it.
My dad laughed so hard at this episode when Robert saw the frogs in her apartment and then tried to escape out her bedroom window during a downpour lol.
Everyone talks about Ray’s delivery of “And then she ATE IT!!” Which IS Hilarious. But nobody talks his delivery before that at 5:53, where he says, “I have something that I have to tell you because you have to know because I SAW it”. Every time, it never fails to make me literally laugh out loud!
Literally 30 seconds passed before any dialogue happened when she ate the fly bc that’s how funny Ray’s awkward silence was. Funny how the best writing sometimes is hardly any dialogue at all
"Are you drunk?" "Look, I'm trying to help him." "How was it supposed to help me, Raymond?" "I'm doing what any brother would do. If you ever see Debra eat a fly, I want you to tell me right away!" "She did not eat a fly." "Yes, she did." "No she's..." "YESSSSSS!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Totally without a doubt frigging hilarious . The entire episode is . Love it when Robert gets to her house and it’s full of frogs and he says I’m dating the frog 🐸 lady of Massapequa. Classic 😎😎😎
This was definitely not only the weirdest Raymond plot line but sitcom plot twist in general that they discover a character loves eating bugs, so original and left field for a family sitcom and rays response just being frozen on the spot holding the tea cups for five mens was hilarious, genius comedy.
@@SapienSafari so believing you have nothing to live for and everything is just molecules in motion is awesome? Sounds nihilistic and depressing to me. Can’t imagine how horrible that is
@@nicholascernatescu6685 you don’t know what I believe but regardless of what you think I believe, I’m positive that being a grown adult who still believes in fairy tales is more depressing. 🤷🏽♀️
@@SapienSafari yes, I do precisely know what you believe because that is atheism in a nutshell. The only fairytale is believing that nothing created something.
This HAS to be the funniest episode of this show... that I've EVER seen! I laughed so hard that I *literally* almost passed out [ at 6:18 ] when Ray was like _"And then she aaaaaaaaate ittttt!!"_ 😆💀💀🤣💀😂💀 wheewwwwww!!!
I would've done the same. 😄 And take a shower after that and pretend it was all my awkward imagination so I could have a good night sleep.. hopefully. I seen a man catch and eat a roach!!! 😖🤢
@@hana.the.writer5074 i have a lake house in kentucky & used 2 know a kid down there named logan who ate bugs. he ate an ant right in front of me & it was gross
This was by far, one of the funniest episodes as I couldn't stop laughing. I felt so bad for Robert as he seemed to have encountered some freaky women....and poor Ray, Debra giving him the business too!!!
Any possibility of second half of “the fly episode”, where Robert sees what his girlfriend is keeping in her bedroom.....so hilarious. Would love to see again!
LOL in an interview Brad said that Ray almost passed out when he was like and then she AAAAAATEEEE ITTTTTTTT lol he said he was gonna black out or something
This guy, Raymond, has a great knack of understanding people in situations..."Raymond" in situations....and the frozen look in his eyes is just killer......anyone would be shocked at such a sight....I was similarly shocked in the scifi Movie "V" where the beautiful girl ate a rat whole...only that wasn't funny.....this is hilarious...its a must see for the best comedy episodes in TV history...thee best!!
Robert projects a lot of his own ways onto Ray. Of all of Raymond's faults, he rarely gets jealous of Robert, but instead it's the other way around. Even if he was making up the fly story, he still would have little reason to be jealous of Robert. Obviously Robert wants Ray to be jealous.
@SuperRegal79 their parents weren't that bad. Did you not see the episode they went to the tracks? Frank revealed he was physically beaten by his dad, and the boys realized he chose not to pass those habits down to them.
@@billgateskilledmyuncle23 Frank was merely vocally abusive, but Marie set up the bitter rivalry Robert had with Raymond. Robert's 'chin thing' was caused by Marie immediately favoring Ray after his birth and emotionally neglecting Robert. There was even an entire episode dedicated to it. What's worse is she ignores the revelation and absolves herself of the blame. After which she immediately goes back to favoring Ray. The few instances of where she shows Robert attention are when it affects her, like with Robert's relationship history, her pushing him into marriage was largely so as to gain grandchildren. Her interfering with his career was because she doesn't approve of the work, even if that's what Robert wants. I'm not saying there's no love there, but if either Ray or her own motivations are there, Robert gets shafted.
I don't know how they can keep a straight face. 😂😂 Must have had so many shots at filming this. I've seen this episode I don't know how many times and it just never stops being funny thats What's good about the classics 😂😂 ( Angela did not eat the fly YESSSS
This was absolutely the funniest scene with Raymond. Normally his character can be unfunny but this was a classic. My all time favorite scene overall is thanksgiving when they all changed their appearance cause of Marie getting new glasses..
