So much like the game series, the FNAF Movie is at its strongest at the beginning, when it's grounded and sets a genuinely eerie atmosphere with interesting hints at lore, before falling into utter chaos by the end.

The Jim Henson company really outdid themselves with the animatronics

Absolutely, there's some great videos from Dawko and other RU-vidrs who visited the set, which show them off in detail.

I think this movie was more directed toward fan-service rather than a darker murder story. If you look at it from the that perspective, it's a great and fun movie. But if you look at it from the perspective of a horror movie, then yes it's very underwhelming and all over the place tonally.
@SomeBoiOnline
@SomeBoiOnline 11 месяцев назад
Yeah, the combination of the two makes for a very strange tone overall.

If the film had the tension and horror that the first scene had, sprinkled with an R rating, then it could have been 1000x better. I absolutely loved that first scene.

I don’t think R rating fits F.N.A.F. It’s a more subtle series that doesn’t show anything horrific.

i think the best scenes are the break in and the opening. i have not seen the movie yet its just by guessing on people reviews.

I'd still recommend to give it a watch but yeah that's pretty accurate, both are great scenes!

I wholeheartedly agree. I watched it today and thought it started strong. The actors did a great job, the animatronics looked fantastic and the introduction of the dream theory was a fun idea I wish they had explored a little more. Sadly the tone of the film was all over the place. I would have hoped for a more dark and gritty kind of movie following the "show, not tell principle".

Definitely, some really good setup that I enjoyed, but I didn't know what tone they were even going for by the end.

You know what I’m not done yet. I’m going to post the whole quote here: "Bonnie's interesting, because in all of the media that I was looking at when I was researching it, he's purple. When I did the original designs, I made Bonnie purple. Well, I didn't realise that Bonnie is blue. It had something to do with the lighting in the first game. When you look at the plushies, and all the toys, Bonnie's usually purple. But Scott was the one who was like 'No, he's blue'. So that was a lot of back and forth to get that nailed down correctly." If you don’t like that Bonnie is blue fine, I usually don’t get mad at other people’s opinions. But unlike most fans, you literally made an entire video to explain why Bonnie is supposedly purple as if to say I know more than the creator of the franchise does. (In my opinion that is one of the worst things a fan can do, that’s not illegal.) I don’t care if that wasn’t your intention, because every video I’ve seen you make about FNaF you just come off as a snob. I haven’t watched your other videos but if I were to guess, you probably sound the same way. Actually scratch that you made an entire video where you “fixed” the movie animatronics because they didn’t live up to your vision. You were saying that and you are a snob. Seriously dude just get off your high horse and admit you’re wrong about this.

I think it would've been better if Springtrap was introduced earlier into the movie as someone who makes Vanessa a lure for Michael and Abby so he can kill them, however we see that Vanessa doesn't want to do this And at the end instead of the animatronics activating the springlocks, its Vanessa who kills William (while being stabbed herself)

The very short screentime he had felt odd, it either needed expanding upon or saving for a sequel.
@sam4gaming135

@SomeBoiOnline it's pretty much guaranteed to get a sequel, especially since it had such a low budget was $20 million and its already made $130 million in its opening weekend

It's a super minor complaint but I didn't like how the suits moved either, mostly how the torso and the pelvis parts move. In the full animatronics they made for the characters, the pelvis is completely still while the upper body and the torso moves. That is how the animatronics work. When the suit actors were in the suits for Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica, the pelvis moved a little with the torso. I do wish that they used the full animatronics more in the movie tbh. Don't get me wrong, the suit actors were incredible! It's just that a trained eye can tell when a person is inside and when it's just an animatronic. Maybe it has something to do with how the suits were designed. Regardless, I loved the movie!! Definitely worth the wait

My god you still can’t get over the fact that Bonnie is supposed to be blue. Here’s a little behind the scenes fun fact (you probably already know this, but I’m going to say it anyway) Robert Bennett, the lead designer of the animatronics, said in an interview that he originally was going to make Bonnie purple. But when he went to Scott to show him the final designs, Scott told him Bonnie is supposed to be blue. So he changed it.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you've said, spot on video mate! ''Atmospheric to Absurd'' sums it up pretty well... I genuinely want to love this movie but despite literally everything being top tier aside from the writing & tone/direction - acting, cinematography, set design and costume design were all S tier in my opinion - my rating is a 6/10, 3 stars. This movie is what I would call a ''perfect average'' of all things FNaF - it has the darkness of FNaF 1 but the campiness of Security Breach, it has the edge of Fazbear Frights but the goofiness of the Novels - the inconsistent tone, trying to be a serious horror story while also pandering to fans and younger viewers, is holds back its full potential, which is just sad. Its honestly disappointing that we waited almost a decade, through company changes, production setbacks, Covid, and numerous script rewrites, just to receive.....mediocrity. Fanservice should never be a priority, although I'm surprised at how little fanservice there was to be honest (they actually got the TLT song in the credits? I THOUGHT THAT WAS A MEME!) The thing is, this is FNaF now. This movie is by far the most widely experienced FNaF product since the original game, far more than even the Steel Wool games, which means this will be first or second in the public imagination when you mention ''FNaF'' - and its not exactly the most consistent or meaningful story, is it? I don't hate the movie, I really enjoyed seeing it on the 25th without any spoilers, but it is not a good movie.

Also do people really want to see more RU-vidr cameos? The RU-vidrs that helped make FNaF what it is today! My god you don’t know this fandom at all. If the answer wasn’t obvious its yes. Yes a majority of us do. We really want Mark in the sequel. We want as many cameos as possible for the rest of the movies.
