(And it's just about food.) I visited a total of 2 kindergardens and 4 schools and all of them taught me what is "healthy" food. I've seen the food pyramid at least since grade 3 until grade 9. Now I am almost as clueless as when I was 7. Back then I knew that candy, sugar and highly processed food is unhealthy but it is not enough. I personally think that evolution could not keep up with the human civilization so that our bodyies are not really fit to almost all the modern cuisines and diets. Few things have changed in comparison to cavemen regarding our physiology but the food did change radically. Evolutively speaking, our ancestors didn't need to live that long and they were dying from all sorts of curable diseases. Most didn't simply make it to an age when heart disease, cancer, etc. start to be a problem. I've heard some arguments that hunter gatherers were healthier than their counterparts after the advent of agriculture. Peasants ate a lot of grains with little meat and had to live in more crowded conditions. I'm fairly sceptical about anyone claiming to have found the optimal human diet but modern science has at least pointed out the ground rules, which should be the basis of any governmental recommendations. The truth is, there is no food pyramid. One shouldn't base their entire diet on a poster.

I grew up with the food pyramid, and I stuck to it most of my life, at 42 I was nearly 400 pounds, and most likely on my way to a heart attack and diabetes. I Didn't eat excessively, but I ate all the wrong things. As a side note, sugar was a big culprit in my woes My doctor finally gave up on telling me to lose weight, more than anything else, that's what scared me into changing.. I tried keto, which at its core is an inversion of the typical food pyramid. In the space of two years, I dropped 200 lbs, was taken off of my blood pressure medication, and I feel better than I've felt in a decade. I now thrive off saturated fat and protein, with a small amount of low-carb vegetables. At 45 my weight is holding stable at 200 lbs (I am 6'4") and I have the energy and libido that did in my 20's. This video is important. If you're interested in these topics I would highly recommend checking out "that sugar movie" as well.

You could argue that it was like that since the early 1950's during the start of organized crime truly infiltrating the governing and corporate offices. Personally, I think it started back at the second US election; where Adams won because he could afford to campaign more than his competitor. In which an unfortunate standard was set in that whomever had the money to create advantage could succeed from that financial advantage. It's interesting to see that people still don't realize we're in a neoliberal cult that mirrors the ancient cults of Plutus of ancient Rome. Where wealth is made into the metric of holiness, and one's piety to the system is dependent on whomever produces the most wealth. The Oligarchy desired the spread of greed, and so they turned greed and materialism into a virtue. This has happened before, and will so happen again. Be true to the Divine Fire, and you will see the end of this tunnel. Fight for what is right, and we may one day see The Just City.

I live in Germany and we were also told about the food pyramid and how that is the right way of eating. Nevertheless in elementary school teachers and schools showed great importance to what we eat. Parents were contacted if the child only brought junk food to school everyday. We had gotten free recipe books by a German company called "Kölln" which produces a lot of oat products. Instant oat, steel cut oats, oat flour you name it. But they also produce unhealthy stuff such as cereal and muesli which isn't bad per se if you have it in moderation. The recipes were 80% healthy (smoothies, fish bread, pancakes without sugar but with oats and a little bit of honey, egg recipes) the 20% unhealthy stuff was muffins, cakes things like that. While elementary schools did pay great attention middle school and high school didn't give a shit and school lunches were so terrible just like in America, it was literally non edible. We talked about the importance of a healthy diet once in the entirety of middle school and high school which is a shame. In my opinion cooking classes should also be mandatory at school.

I lost a significant amount of muscle mass from keto and carnivore from not having glycogen from carbs and the fact that free testosterone plummets to the levels of an 80 year old man when youre in ketosis. The 2nd law of thermodynamics will always apply. If you eat more calories than you burn, it doesn’t matter whether you ate carbs, fat, or protein….. all 3 will be converted to fat and stored. Carbs don’t magically make you store more fat. I could eat 1800 calories worth of donuts and ice cream in a day but ill still lose weight because my body burns 2500 calories a day. I may feel like garbage from the sugar high but everybody gets it wrong. Carbs arent the enemy. You need them if you exercise or lift weights. @BigSlimyBlob
@BigSlimyBlob Год назад
@@twinkiestar6538 I don't. Why would I put that junk inside my body? All it does it cause digestion issues and act as an antinutrient, binding to minerals so that you can't absorb them. I actually had multiple severe digestion issues back when I ate fiber, and now that I don't eat it anymore, they're all completely gone. It's what usually happens to people with digestion issues when they stop eating fiber. There was actually an experiment done on this in 2012, people with digestion issues were given diets with different fiber content and the more fiber they ate, the more trouble they had. Those who ate zero fiber famously suffered zero digestion issues, making the results graph looks like it's missing data. But it's not, they just had no issues to input. It's not just the food pyramid that's a scam. The myth that fiber is good for you was introduced by the religious cult who founded the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and now own massive segments of the grain industry. They believed fiber "purges impure thoughts". The reason Kellogg and Graham started their grain product companies is absolutely insane: it was to stop you from masturbating. Kellogg was a strong proponent of infant genital mutilation and pushed very hard to have all children either circumcised or have their clitoris burned off with carbolic acid. The carbolic acid thing didn't catch on, but the circumcision thing did, it's common practice around here. There have been some attempts to introduce science to the world of nutrition research, but between myths having been inculcated into nutritionists and dieticians over 100 years ago (not to mention the regulatory bodies who issue licenses), and overwhelming financial support from the food and pharmaceutical industries, these have mostly been met with failure. Read up on how a typical nutrition research study is done. If you have the slightlest bit of scientific bone in your body, it'll make you want to throw up and punch a baby.

Coming from someone whose heaviest weight was 248 pounds to the best of my knowledge, whose lightest weight was 145 pounds, who is currently straddling between 169 pounds at my heaviest and 161 pounds at my most lightweight, and who wants to weigh 141 pounds, I can attest that the food pyramid screwed up my life growing up. I was fooled into believing that fat would screw me over while doing everything I could to up my fruit, vegetable, lean meat, and complex carbohydrate intake. I still love my pasta, donuts, pastries, biscuits, and bread to this day, but those foods come at the severe price of me gaining more weight. Thanks to a good friend introducing me to the Keto diet, I ate less, moved more, and did not crave anything sugary. When I brought carbohydrates back into my diet, my cravings spiked so badly. At least I am no longer obese and will gladly be back on track to weigh 141 pounds, let alone 126 lbs, for my 5-foot-6.5-inch frame.

People can survive on many different diets and certainly the quality of the food is important. Longevity is better than just surviving. Most people see chicken as chicken but there are many types. For example the most common in the US is the commercial economic broiler chicken. This chicken is made to get fat as quick as possible. They cull this chicken too young to the point that the DHA chains in it's body is mostly incomplete. You'll need to eat 4 of today's broiler chickens to get the full nutrition of one lean 1940s chicken. You'll know the chicken is ready when the legs are yellowed. The DHA is used for brain development, but it costs more as the chicken needs to live alittle longer to reach maturity. Local farms sell their non egg laying mature chickens, but it's becoming a thing of the past.

@@BunE22 Firstly like i said someone who isn't very active doesn't need much but people who are active and exercise a lot absolutely need carbs, plus grains are a great source of fibre and contain protein so their conversion into glucose is much slower and play an important role in the human body. They act as an energy source, help control blood glucose and insulin metabolism, participate in cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism, and help with fermentation, also glycogen is stored in the muscles, the glycogen in your muscles can only be used by muscle cells. It is vital for use during long periods of high-intensity exercise, as someone who has been lifting weights and exercised for nearly 20 year's and tried every little diet their is in the last few year's I've kept quite high carbs even when dieting and feels the best I've ever felt, look great and regular blood work is always spot on, the best diet is a BALANCED diet, not overly consuming or neglecting and particular food group or macro, one of the functions of the body is to convert foods into glucose, fruits & veggies contain carbs yet are great food's to eat, the problem is when (glucose) sugar is put straight into the body

So they could do 1 of 2 things: Increase grain/corn production or increase vegetable production. Most countries chose grain, but mine picked vegetables.
