The Forever, *~ is a sound sculpture for three sealed, resonant tubes. With a microphone and loudspeaker at opposing enclosures, gentle and sustained audio feedback is produced within each tube. Simultaneously, tubes pitch-track and analyze audio to collect data on their own resonant properties.
In an ongoing process of self-analysis, tubes slowly filter through new nodal points, continuously recording resonant data and using it to search for new harmonic pathways that exist within themselves. The Forever, *~ creates a fragile soundscape that is predicated on slow and gentle self-analysis, exploration, and reflection.
