During the Battle of the Scheldt, This was the only land connection on to the Walcheren penisula. Which turned out to be operation with a high price, considering this cost the lives of over several hundreds of allies soldiers during 2 days of heavy fighting, and nowadays is nearly completely forgotten!

Sander is back! Another interesting video. I noticed several cars and trucks in the background on the street. I wonder how many of the passangers know and realize they drive by an important site of ww2. I guess, not many. Altough signs surely at the side on the road mark the way. I dont know why so many people dont have a sense for history nowadays.
