Just played it for a few minutes, and it looks like they made some other changes as well. Being battle cats themed obviously automatically makes it better, but they also added new enemy types and obstacles like trees and rocks on the arena. Game feels a lot smoother as well, and there's probably a lot more changes made than the ones I found in the first three minutes of me playing (also there's rewards in it similar to pogo cat i'm pretty sure, where you get catfood for completing missions in game, which is always welcome).
I finished the game twice. going for a third time this month xd just use the Punk head to grind. one of the easiest heads you can perma float with, alongside zombie and afro.
"where i can play for hours without getting bored" Energy: *im gonna stop you right there* edit: i made this comment like 10 months ago and i didnt have over 300 leaderships at the time
I love the idea of game spin-offs providing rewards in their orignal game, it's an interesting concept that I'm surprised other game developers haven't tried out yet.
Really cool to see someone finally showcase some of PONOS' old games, as I've played a lot of games from their old catalogue growing up. Though, it's unfortunate that you didn't include a lot more of their older titles, especially games developed around and before 2010, back when they were developing games for the i-mode web service. There's games like: Shinrei Academy, Midori no Obachan, Do Do EGG!, the Mr. series, Cosmic Ninja, and even a whole series of line defense games before Battle Cats, which were the first games to feature the Battle Cats. PONOS had developed an staggering amount of games for the i-mode web service, and it's a shame that none of them ever get any coverage, especially because all of those games aren't publicly available anymore. I'm thinking of making a write up of PONOS' entire game library, so I may be able to share more insight on PONOS' entire game library, if you want
It’s honestly weird to see all of these others games they make, like when you think of Ponos you think of the battle cats and only the battle cats, but then you see that they make other games with different art style and gameplay and everything.
@@AndrewN96 Justin Y. is an enigmatic commenter on almost all videos, except for Battle Cats videos. Alex Plays is saying that InsertUsernameHere is filling in for Justin Y. for Battle Cats videos.
When Ponos first made apps they had a lot of music production apps many unique and not duplicated to this day like a 8 bit synth and the first multi track audio recording app. Have fond memories of them. Then they focused on games.
I remembered one time I downloaded Heads off and then my cousin got home, i showed him this game and he really loved it, we started collecting heads and help each other with our own tactics, everytime we go out with our parents his mom will always get mad because they scream and his mom gets mad XD. I still play The battle cats, I never stopped playing it
I like how they made ball action into the same game but literally just with battle cats instead of the balls and you get rewards for battle cats if you finish challenges. There is also pogo cat which has challenges as well.
I do remember that PONOS developed another weird game called like "Dig dig moana" and the entire game was hilariously funny... but I guess the game got removed from the PlayStore and also this other game with the thief Cats with some gameplay mechanics similar to Clash of Clans..... But still nice video man :3
I’m disappointed that you didn’t fish up some footage of the Mr. series or at least give it a mention. I know they haven’t been compatible with the latest versions of iOS for a long time, but these games were the main force of PONOS’ presence in the market before Battle Cats came along, making them an important part of PONOS’ history. Mr. made an appearance in Battle Cats as a Special Cat for a good reason.
darn, no talk about balistik wars? well the game *is* deleted from the app store but you could at least mention it. It's one of my fav PONOS games but sadly like i said it's gone now
didnt know it existed :( also I like having gameplay with my videos so even if I did know i couldn't include it in the video like Battle Cats Rangers which also got deleted
@@Souptasta there's a trailer for it and some gameplay footage of it on youtube. But i guess since i have too much time on my hands and i have nothing better to do i'm gonna sum up Balistik Wars for you. It's a game similar to battle cats but the main gimmick is there's terrain and stuff so ranged units' attacks can get blocked unless their projectile is homing or travels in an arc. There's also sky levels which limit you to only be able to use flying units. Ground melee units ignore flying units btw. The main problem with the game is that it requires you to upgrade certain things or else the game is practically impossible, and also the game doesnt tell you what a unit does and it doesnt let you grind either. Oh right and the money system is also super weird, you need to constantly upgrade ur max money because it drains over time.
I think Ball Action is exactly like The Battle Cats Quest. It has skins and missions just like Battle Cats Quest and instead of balls its Cats. Also, it has the same plattorm and you can get rewards like Cat Food and Rare Tickets. It doesn't have any ads which is very good because most games have lots of ads in it and they are very annoying. This game is fun but you want, you could just download it if you just want Cat Food and other rewards.
It's been 4 years since I've played. Your channel showed up in my recommendations today. While I still have my old tablet with my battle cats account, it needs a new screen. It's just as good as I remember, I've been at it for 6 house now
Ponos has also made battle cats quest! you can also get rewards in battle cats if you complete missions and burgle cats. A game when 5 cats have to steal a treasure chest from police doges
Every one of these has a battle cats reference apart from the io ones Heads off: one of the heads you can get is “The Face” from the battle cats Day off: the 5th stage is covered in battle cats Go go pogo cat: I don’t need to explain this one Cockroach one(?): he already explained
just ur day off. and just like every day off *doom music intensifies* U USE UR JET REPELLED CHAIR TO BREAK THROUGH THE WALLS OF UR OFFICE AND GO ON A HIGH SPEED CHASE WITH YOUR BOSS
Battle cats quest is bacicly 1. Just a copy of ball action 2.a remastered version of ball action 3.ball action is maybe a prototype/an old version of battle cats quest
2:21 i remember playing that for a long time idk why oh edit: i now remember why i liked battle cats and still like it and i thout that those heads were connected with the world 1 boss
“You beat levels and upgrade your ball and the level get increasingly longer and harder” “Please don’t take that out of context” “shoveled down your throat”☠️☠️☠️
