@@ScreamScreamer702 I enjoyed Mercenaries, but it was a much more impressive title when it came out. Don't think it holds up very well to modern games though.
I loved all the games I remember the first one me and my friends used to play pvp and build tunnels in the walls with the rocket and then light eachothers buildings buildings up the destruction physics were amazing. I wish to see a new one
For the 4th one, they shouldve just used what they had and polished it. More interesting buildings, better story, better vehicle handling and it wouldve been more than enough to make fans like me happy (imo)
Man red faction gorilla unit was sooooo fun. I was on the online heavy, was dope to just get the ram backpack and go through the wall and kill someone lol
Once in awhile on Red Faction I can blow a hole into a wall. And then I could go to the next level. Without going through the proper stages and the computer was really trying to catch up you might say. Other times I'd fall somewhere and it was really interesting it was like you were behind the scenes. Anyway this is a great game
Red faction Armageddon was underrated as fugk. I’ve no idea what the story was about even but the sheer level of mayhem you could cause with magnet gun or whatever it was called was exhilarating.
I like this series with its Sci-fi B-movie vibe and would like to see it continued (or rebooted with a good idea) but Volition are unlikely to do anything else after the failure of the Saints Row reboot.
@@blvdes it’s called life, homie. I have 2 kids, you tend to miss unimportant shit when you’re focused on raising a family. Video games are absolutely unimportant shit.
@E yeah the point is that someone can't say video games aren't something they pay attention to, when it's evident based on the swiftness of the comment that it's clearly something they want to stay up to date on since this is a channel dedicated to talking about gaming also why would i "be happy for" a complete stranger just because they have a family? congrats for doing something everyone else on earth does i guess? i have a kid too btw, where's my cookie?
Kind of surprised it sold well though, never really heard people talking about it even when it was relevant still. I loved Red Faction Guerilla, wish there was more games like it though. I certainly get the design challenges that have pushed developers away from having buildings that are completely or near completely destructible. But I would really love to see more of that in gaming personally.
Volition ain’t the same no more. They haven’t made a noteworthy game since Saints Row 1 & 2. Given how terrible that Saints Row Reboot was, they would be crazy to let them try to reboot Red Faction. They already wasted millions making something that appealed to little people.
Ya just one little tiny bit but info missing: Volition also made the latest Saints Row, that was designed for “Modern Audiences”. You’re probably not going anything close to the same design philosophy if they decide to reboot Red Faction.
Personally Red Faction is better than Half-Life. Story shouldn't matter. Gameplay is and should be important. Red Faction 1 and 2 are the best games in the series even with RF2's flaws. You don't need to innovate to have a good game. It's unfair to call a RF game bad because it doesn't have much destruction, and a RF game "good" because it has a lot of destruction while every other aspect is bad and/or poor.
I feel like no one really talks about this aspect of red faction, but i love the soft communist aesthetics with the fist icon and the class struggle and whatnot. I would have loved if they leaned into it. Perhaps understandably they didn't too hard because its a game made in America in the 2000's but we need more explicitly anti capitalist and pro leftist video games
