WOWOW - TODAY WAS A TOP 10 TRAVEL DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.
I made it to SUDAN, country #173 and one that I've long desired to visit for many reasons, but none more than to see the ancient (forgotten) pyramids. There are more pyramids (200+) in this tiny section of Sudan than in all of Egypt, and they are just as old and impressive!
My Sudanese friends and I took a camel ride to explore around the area and we were the only ones around. Not another soul in sight.
If you ask me, this experience was about 10X more enjoyable than the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, which is now flooded by tour bus after bus. Add this place to your list!

Laue Ethan Mars NAH, Khartoum is run down and pretty much a shit hole. I know this cuz im from Sudan 🇸🇩 but after our new president BETTER THAN that last Idiot who Ruined our countries economy, Sudan’s capital Khartoum will look much more beautiful. Khartoum is only good for tourists looking to spend high amounts of money because the best hotels and best places to be in Khartoum require you to open your pockets up to the full. Until Sudan build up their economy and spend that money on Khartoum and the some on the country then your not gonna find some good places in Khartoum for affordable prices. In general avoid going Khartoum. Visit Port Sudan. ITS BEAUTIFUL. We r so lucky that our stupid former president hadn’t touched it and left it pretty! Port Sudan is clean and has nice white houses that are huge. A nice beach with lots of shops and jewellery stores. And why not visit dindher and get a look at the wildlife there. Like many species of pretty birds, warthogs, crocodiles, cheetahs, Gazelle antelope zebra and buffaloes, lions, maybe leopards or elephants if your lucky (they’re rare in Sudan) why not stroll down dhinders rivers and find a hippo or rhino hiding in the shrub.

It’s nice that tourists flock to the Egyptian pyramids instead of the Sudanese pyramids. That means you have the Sudanese pyramids to yourself. Pretty cool
@DOPEdwarf
@DOPEdwarf 4 года назад
Civilization and its creations does not exist just to feed the shallow pleasures of contemporary tourists. Your measurement of value on a historical site being based on the number of tourists who visit it only displays your low level of knowledge regarding the sight. if you actually cared about the pyramids because of what they are and not as some dumb backdrop to your narcissistic life story the number of tourists would make literally no difference. Your expectations on things like this comes from idiotic hollywood delusion, nothing that makes the pyramids the pyramids has changed, pyramids in sudan aren't suddenly "better" because its images haven't been as exploited as the ones in Egypt on your watched media. And if you knew anything about these cultures that would justify the waste you deposited in the world just to see them the pyramids in sudan would have been well known to you since forever. "All to yourself" sums up your mindset nicely

O en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Kush The Kushite era of rule in Nubia was established after the Late Bronze Age collapse and the disintegration of the New Kingdom of Egypt. Kush was centered at Napata (now modern Karima, Sudan) during its early phase. After Kashta ("the Kushite") invaded Egypt in the 8th century BC, the monarchs of Kush were also the pharaohs of the Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt, until they were defeated by the Neo-Assyrian Empire under the rule of Ashurbanipal a century later and finally expelled from Egypt by Psamtik I.

I heard about Meroё around 2000 and since then I've dreamed of visiting this place one day. I do remember, that Sudan had a difficult period of dividing into two states, with issues remaining in the West of the country. But my friends would always say it's too dangerous to go there just like that, but I see with your video, that not only the police and locals are very friendly, the very site of the pyramids looks quite decent and well-managed! I would definitely like to know more about trip planning regarding Sudan and perhaps about travelling logistics to keep in mind. I guess, it's far easier to explore the area if you have some kind of a guide or a local friend to accompany you there.

Difference between Sudans pyramids and Egypt is that they never found any evidence at all inside the pyramids of Giza that it was a burial site. New science tests where they scanned the pyramids from the outside shows that the pyramids are loaded with electro magnetic fields and that water did run through there before. They probably used them as power plants for electricity many many years ago, lost civilizations etc etc.. :D It's very interesting to dig in to really!

As a Sudanese person myself im so glad we got this recognition we have been plagued by western sanctions for twenty years prior to a few years ago when they were shut off. However, due to the terrible authoritarian leader Omar Al Bashir, poor leadership, sanctions, and civil war have ruined the country and our image, economy, land mass, tourism and global connections especially with the western world have never been the same. It is terrible that we have the most pyramids in the world, the oldest pyramids (arguably) the nile river, the dead sea, the marra mountain, dinder nature reserve, the tropical darfur region, the headquarters of the first African council meeting and the former largest country in africa, but we rank as the 164th least corrupt country we are one of the most dangerous, plagued by coups, civil war, and dictatorships.

Plus they had the largest empire of the Nile valley.
