Wow when Jon was talking about how nice isn’t a fruit of the Spirit I resonated with that. Even my wife agreed 😮 I need to tap back into that Imago-Dei strength and begin to practice
I sent in a question on this. I think the challenge with living this way is that it challenges the status quo and that makes people in the church profoundly uncomfortable. For my male friends who've experiences this, the pattern has generally been to withdraw from church involvement, to the point where we are present but not a lot more than that. Then I've seen a pattern where we live as those men at work, in other communities like sporting clubs or recreational groups because it's acceptable to be that way in those contexts. But we hold back at church because it ultimately leads to conflict. I'm not sure how to navigate such a dilemma.
