Nicely done! I had the pleasure of visiting there in Oct 2021, on a solo roadtrip from Portland OR back to Northern KY. I really enjoyed it, and picked up a couple of fascinating books in the shop. Keep up the good work!

1840 was not the end of the fur trade. It was the end of the rendezvous system, but the fur trade continued on after the last rendezvous. It shifting from primarily beaver pelts to a variety of other furs, and it continues on to this day.

Brilliant stuff. That log cabin idea came from Swedish and Finnish immigrants, by the way; some don't know that. It is a shame that there were not more such forts along the trail, isn't it?
