can you make a video for ES/CS/GSW/Directors for Foundation year program of what are the expectations of junior doctors, what are the common issues they face, how can we help them, what should we do if as seniors if we get difficult fy doctors etc

Hi Ollie, can you explore the new apprenticeship medical route people have been talking about?

Thanks Ollie, less bouncy than usual, but still great on clarity. Do you have an opinion about MBPhD programmes, so taking an extra 3 years to graduate with a research PhD and an MBChB (from Manchester)? Would appreciate your view on how much it would help if you want a competitive specialty. Thanks.

Thanks Tania! Was very much under the weather when giving this talk and not as recovered as I thought I was. Re MBPhD - I think as with most things, you should do them because you're interested, not because it will get you into a specialty. A PhD *purely* to get into a specialty is a bad investment, and I don't think scores you any points anymore for most specialties anyway - at least at Core level. So I suppose it might help with the consultant job at the very far end, but that also makes the assumption you'll pursue that same specialty long term. So really up to you - as ever, don't do it for the points, do it because you're interested in something.
