@@Nathan_Baker are you being serious or joking? Because affirmative action isn’t for the black families that can spend 5k on ap tests. It’s for the kids who don’t have a personal device, don’t have a stable home, and don’t have a good school system.
@mishaf19 I mean he's not completely wrong (he said it really racistly, even the dumbest harvard student would still be like 500 iq). it did help him, definitely. But even if affirmative action did help him, he's definitely worked really hard for it as well, especially if you see how many APs he's taken Affirmative action is really stupid though, my uncle was an all rounded genius, valedictorian in his school, and he got into the school he wanted easily. But he was Asian, so he didn't get his first pick major, so now he's majoring in business instead of comp sci (luckily he loves his business major, so he doesn't even regret not getting comp sci) On the other hand, his African American friend got his first pick comp sci major in the same school despite having less things to do with comp sci than my uncle. Of course he's also very smart and hard working, but he definitely only got his first pick major instead of my uncle because of affirmative action I hope they can remove affirmative action soon 😢
@@stanky5187 there are other factors then race. Most schools have a common data set which measures different values on a scale, and race is almost always in considered instead of important or really important. A less accomplished person can get better picks if they have a different focus, not to Invalidate your anecdote or anything. At the end of the day affirmative action while a good thing (MLK was a big advocate), it’s a band aid to real systemic change in education, and shouldn’t exist in an ideal system.
I got a 5 on my AP English Lit exam and I had a B average in the class all year. It was one of the few AP exams I took where I went into it feeling like “I got this.”
@@skull_ranger7thetaker257 The most difficult parts for me weren’t the writing portions, it was the MCQ over poetic vocabulary terms so I really had to study those. I used a Crash Course AP Lit study guide.
AP Spanish Lang student here, I think the hardest part about the course is not only having to know the language, but also to be able to use skills like inferring and analyzing texts and audio. Us native English speakers (including myself) have developed and toned our skill of inference when reading and listening to text and audio, but having to do this at the intro collegiate level (which is where the course and it's vocabulary and grammar rest at) for another language isn't as easy as knowing what they're saying; it's about what they're saying and how they use certain phrases and grammatical structures to communicate detailed and complex ideas. For me, learning language has been something that I've been into since being a 6th year, so when I was enrolled in Spanish 1 during my 7th year, i picked it up fairly well, well enough to be taking the AP version of the class 5 years later. If there's anything that I'd have to say about it, it's that you should really only be taking the class if you're a native speaker or are pursuing a language career with your target language or being a linguist (like I will be in college) in general. Also, the hardest part about the exam is the conversation section according to all my friends that took the course, other than that, audio maybe be a struggle for some. Happy learning!
I struggled hard, I got a 2, but it was because I didn't understand anything about APs, and it was a sudden change. If I could recommend something, study with time for the exam, I studied 4 hours before and was praying because I KNEW NOTHING 😭 but I know you'll do fine!! Wishing you luck

Im a senior in ib and it is much more intensive, especially with the full diploma as you have to write many papers, CAS which is stuff outside of school, and overall the standards are much stricter with grading in classes and on exams. However I feel that passing ib itself isn’t difficult it’s just that you need to put in much more effort
Yeah by the time I graduate I’ll have taken all 6 ap classes my highschool offers. The fact that they even had the opportunity to take 34 ap classes is insane
I’m in lit rn- not too bad ngl. I finally know how to interpret poems. Make up random bs that somehow actually sounds right and sorta makes sense and you’ll get an easy 5. Sophistication points a bitch tho

AP English literature is a very hard AP exam, the standards for essays are just dramatically higher than those in AP English language; in addition, the test is much more difficult if you choose the read and use popular literature, such as the Great Gatsby, Shakespeare, Beowulf, etc., as the graders know these books and can grade you to a higher standard. Generally the thing I recommend to students in the course is to read Dostoyevsky, he’s still a recognized author and he wrote amazing work, yet he isn’t too well-read by exam graders, so an essay over crime and punishment is much more likely to get all its points than the stereotypical Macbeth essay.
My opinions based on their choices: - AP Spanish Lang (4/10 difficulty) from someone who has taken AP Spanish Lit and dropped it midway through the year. - AP Physics C (10/10 difficulty) even if you have a solid understanding of mathematics (Calculus level), understanding the concepts is still very difficult. - AP English Lit (10/10 difficulty) I've only taken up to Lang and found it terribly difficult (I took dual credit but from my friends who took Lit said it was hell). - AP Chemistry (3/10 difficulty) personally it was too easy, but I did have to tutor some of my friends as they found it very difficult (completely understandable)
Everyone in my school thought English Lit was fairly easy. Euro is the collective hardest in our school, although that’s mainly because it’s the class geared towards the lowest grade level.

E&M and mechanics 😂😂😂😂 for a 11 and 12 grader in India who has opted science we study these topics in our school for our entrance exam JEE Mains and Advanced 😅
Well physics c electromagnetism doesn’t require any previous physics knowledge unlike physics c mechanics. If u were going to take mechanics id totally say take physics 1 first but if ur rly good at and love calculus take physics C e&m by all means. However be warned- it is imo the most difficult AP course offered
I dont care what anyone says. The hardest in AP music theory. Band and chorus kid, ive never met someone who got a 5. All the smartest people ik got 3s. Ridiculously hard
Me who found Spanish lang and AP Lit ridiculously easy… Chem tho- that test can eat itself bc it was awful. So many of these lists also put apush which is ridiculously easy IF you have a good teacher. AP Physics of any kind absolutely sucks! AP Theory is a toughie if you don’t have perfect pitch tbh (I’m lucky I have it otherwise I’d have failed that class!). AP Euro is so fun! AP Bio can be easy or hard depending on how it’s taught. AP Calc AB is great and useful.
i took ap chem, ap physics c (mech) and all of ap calc. i got three on the chem exam, four on the physics exam and five on both my calc exams. calc was super easy for me! chem was a NIGHTMARE!
I hearing from these kind of channels that AP lit is very difficult.... It was literally the only AP exam I got a 5 on out of 6 exams lol Edit: I'm currently a senior undergrad going for a dual bachelors in English and Secondary Ed, with a concentration in Language Arts and a Linguistics Minor, and a licensure & certification in ELL Instruction
in my opinion AP human geography was the easiest AP class i took, maybe i just had a super good teacher but i passed the final exam and did great all year
senior year I took my first ever AP class which happened to be AP Lit and I actually passed with a 120 in the class which was my highest ever. Still barely graduated with a 2.7 tho
Yeah the way my schedule at my school is, it would be impossible to take more than 3 APs a year (12 total), and even then that would be tough to fit in the schedule.
at my school we can, plus a bunch of students just take the classes online or self study for the exam. I took AP Psych and AP Environmental Science online and studied for the exam@@xij3505
Yeh. In a lot of schools, if you do good in pre-calculus, you can go straight to AP calc BC and skip AB. That's what I did. It makes sense, since if you take AB, then the first half of BC is just a review and that's a bit redundant.
