Metallica's The Four Horseman but with Mechanix (Megadeth cover of TFH) speed. Hope you like it :D Used resources and programs: loudwire.com/ic... upload.wikimed... The Four Horseman by Metallica Audacity Gimp
*1986 december to 1987 january only, by the end of 1987 they slowed everything down to basically what would be ``seattle 89`` standard speed until 1990.
Actually, that song is not a cover ,Dave wrote it before joining Metallica and played it in the no life til leader demo ,and when he formed Megadeath, he used it again because Metallica changed it a lot for there version
I love the motorsport feeling The Mechanix gives me, personally. This song's lyrics are detestable when you hear that "Time" being a horseman, LMAO. Looks like the Metallica gang could steal a song from Dave AND butcher Christian mythos with ease. But I do like this version from time to time
If you play this at 0.75x speed it’s about the same speed as it normally would be, so if you play Mechanix at the same speed it would be about the same as Horsemen
I can tell you with certitude, being able to play TFH / The Mechanix, that this is definitely faster than The Mechanix. The Mechanix stands at a tempo of 287 bpm, Megadeth having the fastest '' original '' version of them all. But this is clearly above 300. Just played both in a row. I'm still having troubles playing the galloping F / E part on this version, while I don't in Mechanix
that was fuckin awesome. i really wish theyd play the melodic solo part live though. Dave's solos were great but id have to say i like kirks solos more in this particular song.
Metallica should have done this. Since Lars obviously couldn't play it at this speed, they could have just recorded it normally and then sped it up. On "No Life Till Leather" he was able to play Mustaine's song but it was slower than Megadeth's "Mechanix"
To be clear, Mechanix wasn't a "Megadeth cover" of TFH. Mechanix was the song before Metallica was even a thing. Metallica changed it to TFH while Dave was still in the band. When they kicked him out (after driving him literally from one coast to the other, stranding him in NYC with no money and no ride home), he told them not to use the music he wrote. They used TFH anyway.
@joseph_goebbels in other words, you got nothing and want to try and push it off on me to pretend that you won the argument. You made the argument, so you better back it up.
Never was a fan of either song tbh. Imo it's the worst in Killing and bottom tier in Kill. However, Horsemen has that sick af riff after the first breakdown that gives it the egde
the difference between kirk's soloing style and dave's is so clear in this song, with kirk trying to play dave's solo and then his own, his own being quite iron maiden-sounding if you ask me
I love the fuck out of Megadeth, but The Four Horsemen is the more refined song. Nowadays I'd rather play Megadeth than Metallica even though I love both bands.
I mean they played it this fast as Mechanix when Dave was in the band, the lyrics weren't done for either version though. The perfect version would be Metallica's lyrics, at Megadeth speed but the slow section stays the same.
I got into an argument with some numbskull kid saying that the ending solo to Mechanix is the exact same solo and the only difference is the speed. Lol how can you not hear the differences in technique between the two? It's a very similar solo because it is spun off of Dave's version of the solo, but Kirk plays it much more precisely and puts his own twist to it. And if you seriously can't hear a difference, you either have a 5 second attention span or are just flat out simple.
Agree. Kirk got pretty lame after a while. He's Terrible playing live these days too. I saw Metallica about 14 years ago, and that concert kind of sucked, not going to lie.
Some people get upset when I say this. I Don't Care. If Metallica and Megadeth were playing in my town on the same night... I would see Megadeth everytime. I've seen Dave and the boys numerous times and they've kicked ass everytime and twice on Sunday. Just so you know, I judge bands by how they treat their fans. Megadeth. Iron Maiden. Opeth. Pat Travers. Amon Amarth. All Top Notch!!! 🤘😎🤘🎵🎶🎶🎵
Had they only recorded at Megadeth speed, this song would be that much better. I love Kirk, but I always wonder about what would have happened had Dave remained & Cliff never passed. One thing is for sure- we never would have been pained by that whole St Anger era. 🤣
Megadeth's The Mechanix isnt a cover its original. After they fired Dave, they changed name of the song, solos, and speed. Mechanix on 1985 Killing is My Buisness is origin. It was on Metalica's Demos in 1982
@@stg6004 Yeah sure they dont play it this fast now. But they used to fasten the tempo during their early days up until the black album era. You should see how they played this live after cliff's death.
