how the fuck do you build a pc case without thinking about how breathable is the fucking material that makes the shell. seriously. how. Sometimes it's like they screw up things on purpose.
That room temp is a little nuts, 26c/79f? Also, you only add 32 degrees when converting absolute temperatures from Celsius to fahrenheit. Relative temperatures, or temperature changes would only use the x1.8 factor in the calculation. Point being, a 16c increase is only a 28.8f increase, not 60.8f.
@@robeytech Fair enough, if that's what you meant, but that's not what you said. You said, "To put this into perspective, 16 degrees Celsius is 60.8 degrees Fahrenheit." This is true if you're talking about absolute temperature, but not if you're talking about a temperature delta as you were in the clip at 13:55.
Great in-depth unbiased review! I have a question for you! How easy or hard would it be for an intermediate-level modder like me to replace the fabric on that slide-on cover? (I think the black or white fabric color options are actually very boring!) Is the entire slide-on cover made of plastic or are there any metal parts on the cover? Can you please look around inside that slide-on cover and see how the fabric is attached to the cover's frame? Is the fabric is entirely glued to the two solid sides and one perforated side of the cover or are there screws or clips of any kind? Fractal posted a CGI animation of the Mood showing the square top cover capping onto the top as if the cap helps to hold the fabric in place and the top cap might be removable either by removing screws that secure the top cap or using a heat gun to melt adhesive used to glue the top cap to the slide-on cover?
Too much mayo on your buns, clearly working for whoever sends you free components just like the other bunch around RU-vid promoting and trying to have viewers buy every dam new piece of hardware that comes out to market. Everyday something new comes out and everyday you and all these so called pros and experts are there promoting for these companies why? For the free stuff. It's getting old and stupid all this bull. I have a amd fx 8350 with an nvidia 960 and that pc runs everything perfectly fine. Why all this commotion and hype? Really man, seriously, can RU-vid not allow so much crap?
My reaction to the GPU placement is also kinda sad, using an FE nvidia card your main fan is a blower and will be essentially blocked by how close to the ground the exhaust sits. Really makes the case a non-starter for some
Also, since when is a 4080 Super mid range? There's literally only one card that's better and it costs more than most complete gaming PCs... Going by steam's hardware survey, mid-range is much more on the 4060-4070 lineup.
When you consider that most people have a 4k TV in their living room a mid-range PC isn’t going to cut it for that. The limitations of the case means that there is one 4080 Super you can put inside the case and even that is a stretch for non AI assisted 4k gaming. The case limits you to a mid range build, more than likely a 4070 and a 7800x3D. Which is outside of who this case is targeted to was the point. And if you need a high end CPU which again this case is targeted at (for large amount of data sets etc) that is also a stretch with the CPU barely being a 14700k and a 7700x
@@robeytech This is a good point, and I agree. Especially since that one 4080 Super may be hard, or impossible, to find, and thus not realistic at this point. Also, I completely agree with your point about the mesh being too restrictive for ideal CPU cooling. I think it's that combined with the tight fitment of the fans creating a lot of turbulence in the case that's significantly impairing airflow. However, I still disagree with calling an i7 14700/14600 or an R7 7700x/7800X3D plus a 4080 Super/7900 XT(X) a midrange gaming PC, as you did at 20:47. Yes, you may want a 4090 for AAA 4K gaming on your TV, but a 7800X3D + 4080 Super is still a high-end gaming PC. Last note, it seems Fractal Design is banking on a lot more SFF ready 5090s/5080s to be available when those cards start launching.
I want to turn this into a NAS that can hide in my living room. How many 3.5 inch drives could I cram in there if I pulled everything else out ( no graphics card, low power cpu, etc)
Fractal better be releasing decent PCIe 5.0 risers for their cases when the time comes... (edit. And spare fabric covers, looking at my ikea air purifier that i need to vaccuum...)
