I really hope it goes well, and this is a potential opening for more two seaters in DCS. We do need both the 16D and 18D in DCS, so we can smooth out the learning curve and help people get to DCS, without getting discouraged by a slap to the face with a 400+ manuals. I'm gonna fly the shit out of this bird tho
You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for a T-38 for DCS! My father was a fighter pilot in the USAF, flew F-15s, his UPT and IFF training was done in the T-38A. After the Eagle, he then transitioned to be an IFF T-38C instructor at Moody AFB. It’s one of my favorite jets of all time, glad to be able to fly it in my favorite sim
Brother I understand your excitement about it I’ve been waiting the same actually I never understood why the F-5B why nobody came up with a some sort of mod for the F-5E and made it F like they did with the Sufa mod. But getting the real T-38 is waaaaay better!!!!!
@@jorgelarez9752 in order to add multicrew to a DCS module you need access to its efm, which is not possible for modders. You can make one that is purely cosmetic like the Sufa mod, but it would never have multicrew.
Not if they make a "good" simulation. Then these newer players will be SirCrashAlot's! The Talon isn't a very forgiving aircraft. Getting the Skyhawk or the T-45C will be better for them.
as a fairly new player, trainers are NOT helpful at all! they're good to learn to fly but if you want to actually learn to fight like dcs is meant for, they're basically useless. I tried the t51 and it taught me nothing since I already know how to fly. I ended up buying the f15c as a first module and this was the best introduction to dcs for me compared to the su25 or t51. If ED wants a good free intro module for dcs, they should have an easier to fly aircraft with systems that are simple to control compared to other aircraft, also an aircaft that can both do CAP and CAS would be good for somebody to try dcs to open their horizons. I do not doubt that the T38 will be amazing but it will only be useful to teach people to fly and not many people will use dcs to learn to fly or even learn to fly more advanced aircraft probably
Such kind people, I'm sure the trainer will be of great help in getting even more people into DCS because while we have Su-25, it's not full fidelity and it's supersonic while T38 is so people can explore a jet in full even if they can't fight in it.
Every summer as a kid, these were over head. I'd spend the entire time at my grandparents in Enid. Vance AFB is there and was (is?) a major training base because of the weather.

Jeez i hope ED takes Vecco on as a partner and it becomes an official module. Its kinda of wild that we have all these trainers and not the t38. I doubt ED will let it be free though
Because the T-38 is a lot cooler, also since it's 2 seat you can learn in the same jet, also since it's clean and no armaments it will have a lot better flight performance, also once you are ready for a full combat aircraft you can buy you perferd module, instead having to buy multiple modules just for training

The combat-flight mission of astronauts Adrin "Buzz'Aldrin flew the F-8 Sabre, and Neil Armstrong flew the P9P-Panthers and MLBTed Williams during the Korean War. Your animation simulation is impeccable, so I would add it👍🏻!
I did my first loop in the T-38 and it was harder (to be precise) than I thought it would be. Pilots airplane, everyone that flew it really enjoyed it. Now if we could get RAFB, Reese and Webb.
I flew the T-38 in Air Force UPT in the 80’s. My recollection was that it was soooo much better than the T-37. And it was usually a pleasure to fly. It was only just barely supersonic. I had it about Mach 1 twice. One on purpose and once inadvertently. It could get to Mach 1.2 on a good day. But if you went supersonic, you only had enough fuel for about half an hour. I’m looking forward to this one!
Wow, this is really cool, a free module. On the other hand, I can't understand how the A4 skyhawk continues to this day to be a mod and not a module. The A4 is a fantastic mod and should have been a part of the module for a long time.
I do kinda wish there was some intermediate level of official module...somewhere between a community mod and a fully supported 3rd party mod. Maybe something with a minimal price (like $5), with the understanding that the module might not always have full support.
I like fighter plane since I was a kid, but I couldn't make my pilot dream, and instead, I achieved it with flight simulation. DCS gives me a lot of fun and comfort. To teach someone who is novice in flight simulation, you need to sit in the back seat of the fighter F5F to make it feel like it's flying, and it's interesting. someone is developing the T38 Talon as a MOD, which I don't think makes much sense in the DCS gaming world because it's unarmed. (A very small group of people who've been flight-trained as real T38a in the U.S. are just toys to recall their memories, and T38 mod is not very useful to virtual filots who haven't been trained on real planes like us. There's no fun with weapon-firing, so where do you use the T38?) I heard that BELSIMATEK, the producer of F5E, has been merged into ED, but I think it will be F5F if you take a little care of the currently released F5E. How good would it be to make F5F in ED and sell it to people who already own F5E for around 20 dollar per COPY? What do you think about my opinion?
I had a flight of nine T-38C take off from dover in new jersey yesterday and then fly over my house in pennylvania before flying to scranton in northern PA for aar trials. I love the T-38, it shares my name (thats right, im Talon nice to meet you.) the only other jet with my name is the f/a-37 from the movie stealth fighter. Im so happy that its finally coming to dcs!
Talon T-38 The F-5B Venezuela we had F-5B, it was the original Talon T-38, they used the VF-5B cockpit, it was the first T-38, the F-5B was converted during 1970. Venezuela piloted that plane. It broke the supersonic speed of Mach 2.2, it was the group G-12, Los Grifios. Then in 1980 they were modified and improved by the company NorthCanada we had to buy more F-5 units called CF-116 Late 90s they were retired 2011-2014 due to the lack of response US Government banned Venezuela due to Chavez government and Maduro unfortunately RIP could not last More so, they were replaced by Sukhoi Su-30MK2 and K-8W (JL-8). The combat version was only for bombing operations and the co-pilot can control the weapons systems for ground attack using the same tactical style F-4 Phantom and F. -14 while F-5A is A-A Greetings from Ex FAV 5050 G-14 Escorpiones E.A.M / G.E.A Military Aviation School Top Gun Venezuela
But the freedom fighters gonna be in the Flaming Cliffs update. So why get a Talon? All the stats show making a trainers a dead duck regarding sales. I guess as a free mod... However, The more the better. More airframes in the ecosystem the better for us all.
@@mcdonnelldouglasf-4ephanto607 I already know that. The 5e is a legit warplane. All the stats from recent years show that very few players ever touch trainers. For $12 I can get all the new planes. Like I said in my OP all power to them . But if they want to make an impact , make a plane people want. Very few people want any trainer.

I think ED won’t let T-38a be released easily, I can visually confirm this jet is based on F-5E which already in the game. and it probably be the most powerful trainer jet in the game due to twin engines afterburner
We're not ED partners. :) Our jet isn't F-5E based. We've built our own EFM structure, so it's entirely standalone. We understand the skepticism though, and we hope our frequent dev blog posts will clarify any questions you may have!
They know very well that no one "buy's" the T-38A. That plane if simulated as good as the MilViz T-38 from FSX (and I doubt that very much) may find a small niece on the Free Flight Aerobatics servers. For everything else you have the perfect F-5E! Would have been cooler to have some F-5F! Flying around sightseeing and formation flying in DCS is for Rookies who don't want to learn complex weapon systems. For everything else, especcially long duration formation flying I guess FS2020/2024 is better, simply because you at least have something to look at. And it has lot's of cool Military Jets for free, even the T-38A! I always liked the T-38A, so if they make a good one, kudos to them, but who really flies a lot in DCS with the other trainer aircraft available? I have all of them (even bought the Hawk twice for a friend) and even if you can arm them (the T-38A not) I never fly them. I however love the Skyhawk to death. You can do lots of things with the A-4 and it is the only "free" module I actually fly a lot!
