That last little bit you said at the end I couldn't agree more, using less powerful trucks can make the game challenging and fun again, especially with all the S tier trucks we have now, and despite S13 having 1 map it definitely brings alot to the table, nice little experiment you did there 👍
I also agree with this. It's one thing to just blaze through the game with S tier trucks, but it's another to enjoy the challenge of other trucks. I'm on Amur right now and plan to complete the map without using the Zikz 605r. Give me an F750 or a Chevy Kodiak any day ☺
@Techpower888 😂 nice I'm also in amur, but I can't help not using the 605r there especially In NAI, but yes the older American trucks are a nice to use
Great work Nathan, I really enjoy your approach of not using the Russian OPs myself. They’ve become a good fail safe, but the other trucks are such a beautiful challenge that challenge your SR skills and feelings of achievement ❤
Ever since I stopped going with a raised suspension on every truck I’ve noticed my rollovers have decreased significantly. You will take more damage with stock suspension but I don’t have that much trouble with ground clearance. What matters most? Not taking damage or not flipping over? Easy answer: not flipping over. For quarries I generally have a highway truck with a long trailer + crane waiting at the top on the road and I ferry the cargo one at a time in the bed of a truck that is very stable and capable offroad.
The unpack trick just blew my mind.. dunno why I never considered that before. Thanks for that little tip. I love utilizing all the trucks in the game.. makes it challenging and you can basically set your own difficulty. I'll try something a few times with a beginner truck like the White Westernstar.... if I fail to many times i'll grab something a little beefier. Awesome video man.
@@NProvince definitely. I made a comment a while ago on one of your videos that it'd be nice to see some older american trucks. Stuff from the late 60's into the 70's. Mack, Kenworth, Ford, Western Star, International, Peterbuilt.. some of the original's that got the trucking industry started.
Fallen in love with your videos brother. Helped rekindle my love for this game. The amount of knowledge you share to players is unfathomable. Thank you for the effort of sharing your experience in this game I appreciate it brother.
Ok, I tried this and despite spilling the cargo four times, it's kinda fun. Kodiak goes easily through and over everything nose high in the air! There's only one catch: if u gonna use only Kodiaks, you'll need 3 of them, one for the cargo, one with a crane (you will roll, inevitably) and one with extra fuel. But yeah, it's doable, no prblemo. Maybe in the next DLC I'm going to use only Kodiaks whenever possible.
The 114SD has excellent weight/suspension properties, like a WWS with higher ride height, and still quite stable. That and the quick steering makes it excellent for running timed contests (one of the best trucks for the Flatland NC contest) and I feel it's far less likely to stall out than the Paystar. It's a shame that the Transtar and CLT special engines aren't in anything else. Would be shocked if the Fleetstar could do this, it's 1/3rd less heavy, much narrower and smaller, and a lot less suspension flex. Even more impressive that the 114SD had the 4-ton minicrane too. The challenging region is a refreshing change, some of the mud pits are brutal. I think the new scout suffers from too small tires and bonks it's chin taking a lot of engine damage. It's good, but that keeps it below the Khan Sentinel for me.
It almost seems like Saber made the 5-slot semi's a bit more bendy and flexible too... Or maybe its just with this cargo being so very heavy and top weighted.
@@NProvince Try using the cargo & mud mod that makes cargo 2x heavier and mud thicker. Even the 605r w/ a high saddle version of the sideboard trailer couldn't make it out of the quarry! Not enough power and flipped twice 😆
I hauled the final load of slates out of the pit with the mighty little Zikz 5368. Beep beep! (I never knew the load weight is different unpacked versus packed.)
Ya it’s a very slow pull with max effort from the engine the whole time. In hardmode you just add fuel down there. This truck is usaully very efficient, but this type of stress is just alot for it. Also these quarries are the hardest the game has to offer and they boast the heaviest most top heavy cargo currently in the game as well
@@NProvinceI'm so torn, I really liked the JATs on this one for the stability but I'm definitely a UOD 2 guy at heart on these types of trucks. It's a good problem to have I guess. 🙂
@@NProvince Yeah, variety is nice. I hadn't used JATs much, so it's been fun to try those out. At first I wasn't that interested in trying them, but on trucks I have a lot of time with it seems like a difference I can actually feel. This surprised me, because looking at the raw numbers I was skeptical at first. They don't feel like pay to win either, more situationally useful like you demonstrate in your video. I can't wait to play this region!
This was nice! Sometimes you played carelessly (not in this video), jumped with trucks down from precipices and so on. This wary style is much better, much more realistic. If this game had BeamNG Drive style damage system, that would be great. Everybody would be compelled to play carefully :)
