The Swedish theaters are not very well done; e.g, in January 1807 the French invaded and occupied all of Swedish Pomerania except Stralsund and Rugen, but then retreated early April as the Swedes counterattacked. This is not seen in the video. Neither the Russian invasion of Finland (in reality, the Swedes counterattacked and retook ground) or the Swedish-Norwegian border war of 1808-1809 is is very well covered. Furthermore, the Swedish-Norwegian war of 1814 is not covered at all.

Amazing video, probably the best mapping video of the Napoleonic Wars on the internet. The fact that you added small details that are often forgotten, like the creation of the General Confederation of the Kingdom of Poland, or the fact that the French Empire was called "French Republic" untill 1809, is amazing. If I may add a little detail not on the video: France invaded the vale of Aran (in the central Pyrenees) in the first half of 1793, the vale was officially annexed on august 14h 1793, but given back to Spain two years later on july 22nd 1795. This vale is an awkward case in this region since it is on the north side of the mountains, where everywhere else around the french spanish border follows the drainage divide created by the mountains. Great vid and outsranding map nonetheless.
@fahoodie1852
@fahoodie1852 Месяц назад
@@Deohelm never knew of that annexation, thanks for letting me know
@Deohelm
@Deohelm Месяц назад
@@fahoodie1852 From what I can gather the vale was occupied by french troops on march 31st 1793. Also now that I think of it there is another small mistake in the borders. All the enclaves in northwestern France were annexed during 1793, the principality of Salm being annexed on march 2nd 1793 for example. The only enclave remaining after 1793 was Mulhouse in southern Alsace, which was annexed by France on March 15th 1798.

This is Peak content! You outdone everyone else. My only concern is that you depicted the Habsburg Monarchy as if it was only "Austria", which isn't correct. Even after 1804, Hungary remained separate from Austria, thus the "Austria" by itself still couldn't be applied to the entirety of the Habsburg Monarchy.
@fahoodie1852

Thank you! I knew Austria centralised around that period but I wasn’t certain wether to show it as a single entity or its constituent kingdoms
@spaghettiking7312
@spaghettiking7312 Год назад
@@fahoodie1852 Austria was a collection of different states, kingdoms, duchies, etcetera under personal union, then all of those became provinces in 1804. Hungary still had some autonomy due to politics, but it and all the other territories kept their royal titles while becoming politically part of one Austrian Empire. Therefore, the way Austria is shown is accurate after 1804.

I also like the zooming animation at 15:29. Music choice is great too, you'll get the feeling at 14:35 that everyone betrays and wants revenge on Napoleon, who is on a last desperate stand. I did this once, too! I hear everyone say that conscripts are useless, and for the most part, that's true. They have garbage stats without the training upgrades and deploying them reduces war support. But here's the thing: If you switch to a government type while being threatened by ideological enemies, and then declare an ideological war, you gain a boost to war support until that war ends. So, if your country is big and stable, and you switched to a government type that almost no other country on the continent has, your war support will become extremely high and you'll be able to get RIDICULOUS amounts of conscripts. And if you stay at war long enough, these conscripts will gain experience and lose their debuffs, and you'll just have an extremely large army with no downsides. AND the radical republican government type allows you to hire whatever leaders you want without having to worry about aristocratic pressure, which, during a war, will give you leaders with absolutely insane stats. In one game, one of my generals literally never lost a battle until I got cocky and turned the entire continent against me. That particular general couped the government and declared himself emperor, by the way. TL:DR Becoming a radical republic out of nowhere and declaring war on every country in Europe breaks the game.

Not necessarily a compliment, but an idea. “Napoleonic Revival” Similar to the plot of the movie “Look who’s Back!” Where Hitler comes back to life and takes trips around Northern Germany, (Focused on Prussia). Instead Napoleon, suddenly comes back to life somewhere in Paris, because, you know, his casket is in Paris. in perfect 30 year old condition. He gains attraction around Paris in days, he gathers a small army. Marches around north western France, him and his army spread while doing so. Then, when they opened his casket for the first time for suspicious reasons, they discover his remains are no where to he found. French Citizens here about this, and many places around France choose sides. France breaks into Civil War, but since this wouldn’t be considered an act of external war and instead an internal war, Article 5 is not activated. So Nations can choose to join. Then you can probably imagine what happens next, 3 words, “Conquest across Europe”. Napoleon is crowned again, unless no. But Napoleons reign is definitely reborn. This isn’t a movie but instead a mapping idea similar to this masterpiece of a video! Please reply.

@@fahoodie1852 Thanks, but didn’t wellington retreat Madrid on 31 October 1912? I noticed in every mapping about the napoleon wars it didn’t include it but according the Battle of Vitoria pg on Wikipedia it says that it happened. Is this an inaccuracy in Wikipedia since I noticed no one that did a video about the napoleonic wars marked it.

Do you have any sources that say the French actually controlled Samogitia (Western Lithuania)? I'm not questioning your work, but I'm curious myself because few sources say that Prussia controlled this region.

This is amazing! The amount of detail you put in this is better than I can do! And im good at mapping. This is so underrated, good work. This better have 500k views by the time it’s December. Then you drew the entire HRE, you now inspired me, ima do a photo stop motion Timelapse from 1792 to 2023 in FULL detail. But can you give me a tip on what do I do about the HRE? Ima draw every last micro state but what do I do if HRE is in a war? Do I make them a color or do I just completely ignore the HRE? Also sorry to barge you, but if you need a project to work on, please do the July Revolution, there is absolutely no mapping on that whatsoever, so maybe you can be the first.

Thank you. For the Holy Roman Empire I basically had it coloured lightly because it was tied to the Austrian crown (archduke of Austria was holy Roman emperor) but in 1793, the Holy Roman Empire declared “imperial war” on France so it was coloured accordingly. If certain states in the Holy Roman Empire declare war, colour them and if the Holy Roman Empire itself declares war colour it

@@fahoodie1852in my mapping I do this, Regular color - the nation itself or occupied territory Darker version of color - puppet Light color - front line territory Very light territory - either the front line territory they recently took or surrendered nation or part of nation. So in my mapping, sorry for being difficult, but what should I do for HRE? Dark color for puppet state or red? Or a occupied territory

@@fahoodie1852 will have to admit, when Napoleon and his army were being pushed away from Moscow, that was the perfect music to be playing. You understand why And then when Napoleon was fending off the 2 armies from Paris at the end was also perfect time for that music.
