Il fait beau/Il y a du soleil = It is sunny (Literal translation = It does beautiful/There is some sun) Il fait chaud = It is hot (Literal translation = It does hot) Il fait froid = It is cold (Literal translation = It does cold) Il pleut = It is raining Il y a des nuages/C’est nuageux = It is cloudy (Literal translation = There are some clouds) Il y a du brouillard = It is foggy (Literal translation = There is some fog) Les saisons en français (The seasons in French): (le) printemps = (The) Spring (l’)été = (The) Summer (l’)automne = (The) Fall/Autumn (l’)hiver = (The) Winter C’est ___ [le printemps, l'été l‘automne, l’hiver) = It is ___ [The Spring, The Summer, The Fall/Autumn, The Winter]

2:20 So, "beau" also means "beautiful" and when we want to say "The weather is sunny", we say "Il fait beau" ? That's so cute ❤😆. In Iran, it's quite the opposite: rainy days are considered beautiful. Quite interesting how much words can tell us about a culture and its people :)
Wow, that's very interesting, is there a certain saying or phrase you use when you talk about a beautiful rainy day in Iran? We also say 'Il fait du soleil' for it's sunny in French :)

(literal transition. "there is some sun/there are some sun") il fait chaud - "it is hot." (literal translation. "it does/makes hot") il pleut - "it is raining." il fait froid - "it is cold." (literal translation. "it does/makes cold") il y a des nuages - "it is cloudy." (literal translation. there is/are some clouds"). alternative. c'est nuageux - "it is cloudy". il y a du brouillard - "it is foggy." 4 Seasons ; Les quatre saisons - "The four seasons." le printemps - The spring (M.) (printemps - spring). l'été - The summer (été - summer). l'automne - The autumn (literal meaning. "the fall") automne - Autumn, fall. l'hiver - The winter (hiver - winter). 5:53 can also say "le soleil brille", meaning "the sun is shining" meaning there is a almost big amount of sunlight and sunshine outside. nice video! helped me a lot!

i look forward to learning and refreshing past info, just because she is so sweet and affable. great teacher...firm, but not threatening. i do have a question or two regarding my hearing of a particular word and its pronunciation. i hear a distinct difference in e' sound: is it a long e (a) or an ae sound? vingt: van, etc.
In the last part "C'est lété" sounds like "selete" does it also imply to "C'est lautomne" like "selauton or does it need a pause in the middle "se lauton" ? Thanks, in advance 😁

il fait being used for weather and time totally does make sense. in English one could think of il fait beau as "it(referring to space around us) does beauty" which is an older saying that means something (generally out of our control), causing us to feel warm through actual warmth or emotional response.
I do watch your videos again and again. I learn French everyday after my son go to bed, because i have to check his French homework.And also i like learning languages. I am so enjoy learning French with Alexa. You are a great teacher! I love you Alexa. 😘❤️
