If this happened a few centuries ago, there would be now a legend about two humble saints or gods who planted and protecting forests across china, both the missing part of each other. And i think it would've been beautiful.
dr. crab , They'll be Chinese spirits in ancient lore that people tell each other for fun and joy. Haixia and Wenqi spirits, and best friends. They play in the trees outside the village, nurturing and looking after the thousands of trees they've created. They will have two stone burial temples in the center of the forest, where you can go to say your hey and hellos. If you plant a seed in the forest, it is said to bring you eternal happiness.
Seems like one of old fables you can find in Chinese literature. Maybe 200 years from now they will still tell the story in their village about the two men who built the forest.
Shoulders of Giants Ich lebe auch in Deutschland aber in einem kleinen Dorf, umkreist von Wald und Feldern. Ist wirklich schön bloß muss man immer so weit fahren zum Einkaufen oder um Freunde zu treffen.
Alot of comments talking about #teamtrees and their numbers. 20 million (20,000,000) is indeed much more than 10,000, but the story here is about the friendship and long-time determination of two disabled friends and their commitment to planting an amazing amount of trees with little resources (from interview and you can see in the video, they cannot afford saplings so they snap small branches off trees and keep watering them). At the end of the day, I guess its a matter of scale. For example, China is planting reported 2,000,000,000+ trees yearly, to a point where they are pushing back an expanding desert, regaining about 3000miles^2 of forest from desert per year. The general stat of this is true, as NASA has also shared satellite images that overtime, China has gained a larger amount of tree foliage compared to the rest of world which has stayed constant or decreased (india also has increased greens). 2 disabled men planting trees based on the power of friendship and desire to do good for their village despite drawing tough cards in life vs a global campaign led by Mr Beast, influencers and multi-million/billionaires to show the internet community can make a difference in the world vs a centralised government of the worlds most populace and top two strongest economical countries planting trees in order to retain land for agriculture and human inhabitance. 3 different scales, 3 different resource pools, 3 different outlooks on planting trees but all amazing in their own way.
@@anthony42- isn't the whole point of "hold my beer" that someone does something first and then another person is "hold my beer" and he goes to outperform them, why call him a fucking dumbass? There was absolutely no need for that
Bruh Moment her reply made me feel like she doesn’t appreciate things that were done for the world. She only appreciated the most recent ones or the better ones.
Asians might not always be on sports channels or shine in some spectacular show on t.v. but this will always be more of a breath taking blessing I would choose any day to watch in person when people in life complain about not having a certain clothing brand or cell phone up to par with the latest iPhone. Be thankful for what you have.
K pop K drama is extreamly popular Korean its all my highschool talks about Anime Manga This is Japanese and very popular Their so many things that are poupar u just need to look
+slowworkersunited Yes - better than whatever you might be thinking, but oh sorry! You're a slow thinker, oops, worker, so by the time you form a thought they will have planted another 50 trees.
My mother actually told me a story when I was young(we’re Chinese) that a long time ago a man who was blind and a man who was lame were traveling and met up at a crossroads; they both wished to travel the same way so the blind man offered to carry the lame man while the lame man directed the blind man, and they went along together. This video just reminded me of that story; it was from a chinese storybook for kids but I was just so surprised that an actual living pair of the same people existed and were also heroes in their own right!
This has made me cry because of the pride and huge RESPECT, that I feel towards these two Men !!!!!!!!! Such a big handicap in life, but still so much conscience and spirit for society, environment and future generations !!!!!!!!!! I just don't know, what to say, but they certainly deserve some kind of the award from the President of China or something. Big, big heart, great spirit and awesome will to live !!!!!!!!!! My deepest sympathy and RESPECT Dear Sirs !!!!!!!!!!!! Best regards to both of them and shall they have a long life !!!!!!!!!! #Respect, #MyHeroes
but what you have to consider is that they have lived through experiences that made them that way and them children may have a life as similar to be doing the same for the future generations, the men wanted our generation to see the beauty we have and maybe thatll inspire others
I have watched this video so many times and I still feel profoundly moved and inspired. I just hope that we will appreciate that these two great men are genuine heroes worthy of praise and renown, unlike the celebrities and billionaires who are largely insignificant in comparison.
Love the story. Wish I could say it made me feel differently about Humanity, but then I look in my recommended box and I see a 7 minute video of 8th graders fighting for shoes....and realize that's more common than tree growing..
A hate people like y'all, just because y'all see some stupid videos doesn't mean you guys should give up on humanity. There is a world filled with smart, nice, and helpful people. So the Next time y'all are about to comment "This is why I've lost fate in humanity"...DON'T
This was absolutely wonderful. Words cannot describe how this video made me feel, or the feelings of humility and gratitude that I have for my own life. Thank you so much for this, and please keep uploading!
This is so beautiful and meaningful. This story would last hundreds of years. I have so much respect for their friendship and also helping the environment. I wish i could do something like this.
待化的冰 Calm the fuck down, he is right. It is true that the evils and selfish tend to have more power and viewed, and it's not just about the government, it's about everyone and it happens also in every other countries. I agree that the evils and selfish is viewed first is because people choose to ignore the good ones and chose to focus on the dark news instead, they over exaggerate and will not try to see things from different perspectives. Anyhow, stop being so sensitive for Christ sake. Let me tell you an extra fact, I am Chinese therefore I can read Chinese but I can also read Japanese and English. From RU-vid comments (and weibou and bilibili) I have find this weird trend of Chinese people getting overly offended when anyone say something related to China. Also I see people (including the Chinese) talking about some bad things that exists in China yet people get so offended by it. This need to stop because not every country is perfect and just stop raging because I see that in other languages as well but no one over reacts to it as much as we do.
I really love this story and being Chinese, having lived and experienced different areas of China, really just makes it that much better. Bless these two, I wish we have an option to possibly donate to them and help their financial needs a bit. If anyone knows a way, please inform me!
Xintea wonder . for chinese pepole . i don't want to be racist or so , but in eastern europe we don't have a clue from your lands . are you still communist ?
According to this generation, a bunch of fake and plastic sluts are more important.Unlike these men, the Kardashian's don't work. At all. And people like that.
I love this kind of people who give benefits to the people and environment. Not ppl who are just words n do nothing. God bless these two and stay healthy 😄😄😄
Those who thumb down have no mercy at all. I really appreciate and learn important lessons from this two men. Thank you all for this wonderful beautiful video.
This is the type of positivity that changes people. I look forward to doing something that'll give back to our earth, these two guys are my inspiration and I value their contributions so much. Thank you.
I know I'm not supposed to but I feel sick when I compare my life with the lifes of those two gentlemen. Inspiring! And just wanted to say that GBS for me is the greatest YT channel. Thank you so much for your work!
In the village of Yeli, China, two men have formed an unlikely team to improve their community. Sixteen years ago, Jia Haixia lost his eyesight. His best friend, Jia Wenqi, lost his arms as a child. Together, the two have planted 10,000 trees around their village and have become an inseparable duo.china!
