Dennis Sparks and Stonefly 71 gave you good advice on terminating the paracord by gutting the inner strands. The same applies to starting out . Gut 4 to 5 inches and glue it down thereby starting out flat. Hope this helps. You help us all the time.

The struggle is real i have struggled like this so many times in my short rod making career, my dad always said everyone makes mistakes you just have to know how to fix them. Keep up the great work I learned a lot and now I might give wrapping with paracord a try,

Next time “gut” the white cord out of the last 6-10 inches of your working end once you’re ready to tuck. It’ll save you all the heartache and it’ll pull right through like trad thread wraps.

Great videos, Love everyone of them. With making paracord or craft cord handles I have been fortunate to have been able to do a lot of them for surf rods and sturgeon bank rods with them due to a lot of rocks and it helps protect the rods a bit. I find that using the 2 ton epoxy or long setting is the only way to anchor the cord down to the blank and then over top I use spar varnish painted up and down the corded section of the blank. Allow it to dry fully and it works great. Hope this helps on your next build. Oh yes you can cut out the center core of the cord to help with pulling the cord back under with your pull through.

Like the video what you might have been able to do is the last few inches you could have taken the core out of paracord and then pulled it under the end? And as far as gigging from don’t have to throw the gig float or walk up to frog with light shining in eyes and just stab down on them!

Did you end up coating the paracord with thread preserver and epoxy? I'd love to see the final product.
