A deep dive into the versatile ways the fron2 can be used.
Many comments have asked how to purchase the fron2, so I feel I should respond:
This is an entirely new instrument that I have recently invented. I can build one for you. I personally hand craft them in my workshop in Guelph, Canada, near Toronto. I have no employees, and these instruments are not commercially available. Please find me, Fron Reilly, on Facebook and message me to find out more. Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you.

I asked in your previous video what this was called, and you answered with this video, "The Fron2". Thinking about how to classify this instrument, I realize it's a new subclass of harp. I also had the realization that percussive element can be added to this easily. I really want to play with this instrument, will you please make me one, or at least send me the plans for it? Speaking of pedal controlled, have you considered rigging it up atop an old foot-pedaled sewing machine's desk, or building something something similar for it? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2o7_IAWhMtE.html&ab_channel=COWDesignStudio That way, you could allow the player to have a bit more fine control over the speed of the spin.

Could you tell us more about the name fron2?
@fronreilly4787
@fronreilly4787 5 дней назад
Thanks for asking! My first rotating instrument was a commission from Jesse Stewart, and it was based on the torre, used by a group called Uatki from Brazil. I suggested numerous improvements, and he declared the final result to be a whole new instrument, so he decided to give it a new name. He named it after me and called it the fron. It had a decahedral prism wooden sound box. I decided to call this new version with my new frame drum resonator and floating halo bridge "fron2"! You can see the fron, or "redesigned torre" as I called it then, on my RU-vid channel.

I hope you try making an entire album out of this, experimenting with different usecases and styles within the instrument's constraints. The possibilities with this seems boundless. Could probably fuse very well with different ethnic music, especially something like Norwegian folk, or even Malian music (+ the rest of the Sahel region).

Excellent idea. Curious to know how different tubes will perform, ie of brass, glass etc, different diameters. Although difficult to replicate, I'm fascinated by the noise swirling water can sometimes make when an echo is made inside of a steel tube and the water is drained out (happens sometimes in my large stainless steel thermos). The noise created is a swirling pitch the rapidly goes high and above hearing... similar to the effect made by black-hole mergers when the simulations are put to sound.
