I bought a used XT-3 about a year ago and love it !! I see no need for anything newer, the XT-3 does everything I need, some complain about its focusing but I use it primarily for landscapes and it does just fine for landscape photography

Besides T2 and T3 I've got the H2 and I can confirm besides a slightly better AF, there is no reason to buy an H2 over the loved T3.

Bought a X-T3 a month ago, with a shuttercount below 2000 😬. Bought it to compliment my X-E4, I shoot with vintage lenses alot and wanted something with a bigger EVF and a better grip and preferably the same sensor. Couldn’t be happier!

Love Laigharne I love Laugharne. Surprised you haven’t been there before. Such a peaceful place and very different to your usual South Wales photography locations. Another great video Ian. I started off 12 years ago as a newbie with the Canon 5D Mk ii, then bought the mk iii, then the mk iv with shooting weddings and now enjoying photography for my own pleasure with the Fujifilm XT series with the 4 and now 5. Always enjoy seeing your video notification popping up. Love those long exposure at Amroth. The black and white works so well.

I moved over to the Fujifilm X-T series of cameras about 9 months ago having watched some of your previous videos and I've never regretted it. Like the X-T3, having the 'exposure triangle' clearly set out on top of my X-T5, with the ISO and shutter speed dial on the camera body and the aperture setting on the lens, makes these cameras a real pleasure to operate, without having to remember menus, which dial does what and shortcut buttons. I have two x-t3's at the moment and really love them. The spec's are probably more than I would ever need. As I do most things manual anyway. I love the controls, the image quality and the design. Also autofocus is plenty fast. It can focus on vehicles that travel at 100+ km/h so that's plenty fast for me. Use them for concerts, events, travel and family stuff :)

For me, the X-T3 is everything I will ever need from a camera. I started with the X-T1, then X-T2 and finally X-T3. I think the 3 is the best compromise between the older style camera and digital. I felt with this camera that I would never need to upgrade and am still satisfied that I don't need any more tech that is basically diminishing the skill of the photographic experience.

That generation of Fuji’s top-end cameras was pretty special. I’ve never had an XT body, but I do have an xPro2 that I absolutely love. Most of my paid client work is done with my Sony kit, but when I create for myself or if I’m traveling it’s pretty much always my xPro2 I reach for. It comes with me pretty much everywhere

@@ian_worth Oh you should! I use newer X-Ts for the work where I need IS and reliable autofocus; my X-Pro2 is the chuck it in my bag, every day camera. It takes a little getting used to at first after SLR style bodies, but I have noticed that people find it both intriguing and less intimidating because of its retro, rangefinder styling. (I do a lot of portraits and people photographs!)

I still love to pick up my XT3 and go out and shoot. I Finally decided to get the XT5 and at the camera store turn around , it's a nice camera but feels like a plastic toy compare to my XT3 so I started to look at XH line and while deciding this whole firmware and AF issue started to run here on YT ... and the way Fuji is addressing it... hmmm im still shooting whit my XT3 and my 6 battery🤭😂 Nice work Ian it' always a pleasure watching your video .Thank you!

I bought the xt5 at the beginning of the year. Being a 68 year old with arthritis, its just the job for me. Ive heard xt3 users saying that the build quality is not what it used to be but it feels great to me, especially with a 27mm pancake attached.

I still have my X-T3 that I bought barely used back in January 2021. It's still more camera than I need, but I love it. It's so durable too. I take it hiking all the time. The X-T3 is also a great camera to shoot with vintage lenses. Interestingly, recently I was considering if I could buy a replacement, would it be another T3 or a T4? I think that a used T4 in general will have been used far harder because it probably was used to shoot a lot of video. So, the sensor probably has more wear on it that a typical X-T3 sensor. As for those images, love them all. But, if I have to pick one it would be #1. I like how the composition. The three elements on the right point to and kind of frame the two posts that to me are the subjects. Thanks for this video!! I'm sure my X-T3 will be with me for a while. First, I'm an amateur, so I can't really afford G.A.S.! Secondly, the X-T3 does a great job. No reason to look at anything else yet. Thanks for taking us along on your photo walk. Hi Ian. I bought my first digital camera in 2017, it was an XT2 (just before the XT3 came out 😂). And learning how to use that is how I found your channel - I’m sure you had the XT2 as well? Anyway, only this morning (before I watched your video) I was with it again taking photos. I have an XH-2 (enjoy both) but that XT2 keeps calling - such a joy to use. Of the three images I preferred the first one. Very nice light and contrast, definitely ‘fine art’ style ❤.

Thanks for a very useful video which many can relate with. Lessons from many in this space seem to go something like 1. The best way to get better images is to get out and shoot. Practice, make mistakes and shoot some more. 2. It doesn’t matter what camera you have, all of today’s cameras can take great photos. It’s not about the gear! 3. Here I am with my new $12,000 Hasselblad kit.

I bought into the Fuji system with an XT-2. Still use it as my work horse. Since then I have bought an xt-30 and a 100V for travel and street. Haven't seen a need to upgrade since.

I'm still using the X-T2 which I bought brand new at 50% off MSRP after X-T3 was already out. You can get great deals on camera gear if you don't insist on having the latest model. People have been using the older models for professional work with great results and it's not like they suddenly turn into bad cameras the moment a newer model is released.

I always found the XT series to be a bit flimsy, not really impressed with the build quality. I still have my X-E1 (and love it) and recently traded in my Nikon FX stuff for a 2nd hand X-H1. Though lacking some of the dials, I very much like it. Especially the backlit LCD screen up top when doing night photography. Really handy. When it comes the the long exposures, no. 1 does it for me.

I have an XT3, and have been thinking about upgrading, but all my preferences come back to... well, the XT3. The only bugbear is the battery life. But I usually carry a couple of spares anyway.

HI Ian - just in relation to AF, I understand that in fact the X-T4 does not have better AF - it did on release but then Fuji did one of their "kaizen" fw updates to the X-T3 which gave it the same AF as the X-T4 and folks who own both confirmed that the AF is identical between the two cameras

I have XH1 which was launched a bit earlier, but I got at nearly 1/2 price with batter pack and 3 batteries & etc. Love it too bits, so solid and the shutter soooo silent. Yes I agree with others that stage in Fuji's development was good because of the image quality. I shoot with simulation bracketing: Velvia, Provia and across! Nice video, must add to bucket list!

I bought an XT-1 about 5 years ago as I fancied trying out Fujifilm, I paid about £200 for mine back then in nearly mint condition and they have nearly doubled in price since then. The only thing I wish it has is that 3 way articulating screen as it can be tricky seeing the screen sometimes shooting in portrait orientation if low down, otherwise I love it. The XT-3 is probably the camera I would upgrade to when the time comes, I did like the XH-1 when I held one too though.

I bought an used XT3 some years ago and I absolutely love it. I never felt the need for something newer until the XT5, but even then, the XT3 is so lovely I could live with it all my life. Maybe the day they make an XT camera with 100 megapixels I'll upgrade lol. The only thing I don't like about it is that it resets it's internal settings after some months without a battery. Having a backup of your settings in the PC takes care of it, but Fuji could just write that data on the SD card and reload it when needed instead of volatile memory, honestly.

Yes that is quite annoying, it happened to me once when I was on a client shoot, I was like bare with i've got to setup my camera again. I tend to leave a fully charged battery in it now. 👍

I have 3 Fujis GFX100S ii... Which Inn I would love you to have a try with it. GFX 50s ii and XT5 All 3 serve a purpose.And I love the fuji colour science and the ergonomics of Fujifilm cameras as well. The camera that I think is undeated for landscape photography is GFX 50s ii. Once you've played with gfx files , it is very difficult to go back. The incredible dynamic range Does makes it easier for landscape photography. I can't remember the last time I had to bracket an image. But overall, I think Fuji cameras are great for landscape photography.Add many other photography types also.

I love the XT3. Was my first XT and I started feeling a proper pro-sumer from there. But when I moved to the XT5 it was like night and day for me. So fast, the IBIS… a XT3 on steroids. And for my needs, superb AF (even if that is far from Sony or Canon).

Picture 1 this week, very nice composition, some things going on but not to much. Pics 2 and 3 than on P2. I started again after some years without a camera in 2019 with a used x-t 1. I still use it and like how nice it is to use. I added a x-h 2s some weeks ago for a more modern AF, the Ibis, better Viewfinder and a bit more resolution. But the x-t 1 will stay and will still be used.

Upgrade from a xt-20 with 18-55 to a xt-3 with 16-80 for the weather sealing and extra reach of the lens. Love the camera but finding my favourite photos I have been taken with my phone as it’s the camera I always have with me. Therefore thinking of getting a Sony rx100 but waiting to see if they will be upgrading it with the new EU law on USB-C coming into force end of the year.

I reckon the XT-3 marks the sweet spot, usefully more advanced than the also great XT-1, but with much of the same appeal. I went for a Pro 3, which has the same innards and have never felt like it needs more than it has. The sensor is good enough and the shutter smooth enough that I never miss IBIS either.

I wanted a smallish camera for travelling so after watching many videos and reading countless reviews I bought a used XT3. It looked great, felt great but I just could not get away with it even though I to my mind some great shots with it. I tried and persevered but in the end I traded it and ended up with a used Pentax KP which I love especially as it’s lots lighter than my K1ii. The XT3 obviously suits you though and had I not already tried one you would have probably convinced me to try one. No 1 image for me.

@@ian_worth I just could not get away with the interface and menu, even moving say between manual to aperture priority, shutter priority etc seemed such a long way around compared to Pentax. Perhaps being a long time user of Pentax from the days of the Spotmatic made my to stuck in my ways.

Began shooting on 2 Fujifilm XT3 Cameras with battery grips in 2018. Still using the XT3’s in 2024. Hoping Fuji can sort out CAF issues with XT5 & their XH2-S bodies.

The XT3 and XT4 use the same Processor 4 and I always felt the XT4 with the addition of IBIS was just asking too much of it. The XT4 just seemed all around slower in operation to me, including the AF. The XT5 with the Processor 5 solved all that of course. I sold off my XT4 when the Xh2 came out and I shoot stills with my XT5, but I still have my 2019 made in Japan XT3 and use it as my EDC camera with Fujichron lenses. 👍👍

Great camera. I own an xt2 and occasionally use the xt3. I prefer the XT2 as an everyday carry, as it feels more comfortable and a bit more compact, and somehow a bit more solid.

The Fuji body I can't put down is the old GFX50R, The images from it using old manual focus lenses just have a look to them, you can pick up a 2nd hand body cheaper than a new XH2. If I need speed for event's and sports I use the XH2S my least favorite Fuji Body.

I have been shooting with an XT-2 for a dogs age. I have a northern lights trip planned for January in the far north of Canada (Whitehorse, Yukon Territory). I figure that since I am spending buckets of cash on the trip, I should spend $1000 CDN for an XT-3. That way I can use the XT-2 as a backup.

Question if you don't mind- do you ever have images raw or jpg that seem cartoonish? Detailed, but like a painting. This happens to me sometimes regardless of camera. Nikon d810, Fuji xt2. Mostly with forest scenes.

Great video as usual Ian. I currently own the X-T1 and love it. I've found myself wondering about the X-T3 too many times. I guess it's time to put the matter to rest, one way or the other. My print shop tells me I'm pushing the limits with the X-T1 so perhaps it's time for an upgrade to 26MP. The thing is, I'm in love with the X-T1! What to do?

I am generally very happy with my XT3, despite the lack of ibis and a long-lasting battery and see no reason to upgrade at this time.

ive had the xt3 and the 16-55 for a few years now and it still does the job, but since ive started doing more and longer hikes that new xt5 and 16-50 kit lens is appealing just for ibis and the lightness of the lens.

I'd honestly see about renting that lens before buying to make sure your happy. The one I had was pretty soft in the corners, it wasn't any better than the 15-45mm PZ which is worth about 50p.

Could save more money and get an X-T2. The tweaks on the T3 were really incremental compared to what Fuji brought to the T4. Even a T1 is usable and has the venerated sensor that reviewers often refer to as the most 'filmic'. I'm still using my T2 daily. IBIS with adapted lenses is probably the biggest feature Fuji introduced later.

I sold mine heh - while I did enjoy it, I do wish it had IBIS and for video, despite the amazing specs, the autofocus is unusable in video, fine in photos though.

I had an XT20 and XT30 years ago but sold them to consolidate on one single system (Nikon; as I had Fuji and Nikon cameras and lenses) but I'm sort of regretting doing that now since the Fuji does have some appealing features even though the XT20 and XT30 are older cameras, but to even buy them used, they are about $500-$800 because of the demand and lack of supply.... If I ever do buy another Fuji at some point (maybe the X-M5) I will probably just keep it even if it's one of those cameras that I don't use that much, because now it would cost me quite a bit to ge a used one, although I would be paying a bit less than what I got for them at the time (which was about $700 and $800 respectively) so it wouldn't be costing me more necessarily, but even a few years ago these cameras were cheaper used (when Fuji was actually keeping up with demand).
