HISTORIC drag cars are awesome, and this one has DEEP family history dating back to 1969. Check out the Super Falcon, an incredible old school drag car that racked up many wins and even a track championship back in the day. It raced all over the Southeast, piloted originally by Terry Hood and later by his wife Sandy Hood. Power came from a rowdy small block Ford, 4 speed manual transmission (later switched to automatic) and 6.14 gears out back!
Surprisingly the 1965 Ford Falcon Futura was never butchered or cut up. The only modifications are widened wheel tubs, and offset shackles to move the leaf springs inward. Everything else is very close to original. All of the trim, emblems and windows survived. Even the original hood survived, as Terry put it away for safe keeping back in the 1970's. Check out this car's originality and hear some of the stories that make it (and its owner) a true local legend. Hopefully, Terry and his grandson Daniel will put an engine in this car and get it back going again. Either way it's a great piece of local drag racing history from the Chattanooga area, and it holds a lot of memories for the Hood family.
