There are some niche scholar setups such as this that can compete with warrior. Having one scholar in team fights especially is really powerful. You can’t make big mistakes since you’ll die fast but resets are really broken for some spells
Its been a weird one to get used to. The playstyle for it is tricky to learn since it flip flops between really passive and really aggressive play based on how many cyclones are active
Fun spells but this is already a mediocre setup in arena where it is at its best. In open world & raiding polarity shift is still amazing but cyclone becomes very weak since like you say they just get eaten up
curtain could certainly work well too because the main idea is you want another lightning spell that helps give more ways to stun. The first big advantage of polarity is it outranges crossbow so gives you are great way to win max range fights where your cyclones don't reach and the 2nd is it can also be used to manipulate the opponents position in a way where they get hit by cyclones multiple times in quick succession. Curtain on the other have gives you a bit of direct defensive and improves you matchup vs counters if you take curtain stun jewel since you can now interrupt them. the main downside is it is easier to run out of cooldowns since curtain has one cast whereas polarity can also keep you safe and has 2 charges
