Gears 5 is soon upon us, and it marks a significant turning point for the franchise. We have a new leading protagonist - with focus shifted to Kait, introduced in Gears of War 4, and more exciting developments to expect within the mythology of the franchise.
While to many, the Gears franchise might be known for its action and gore, the franchise is also host to a sprawling and dramatic story, a not-so-straightforward conflict of multiple parties trying their best to ensure survival - for themselves, or for their species, or to pursue their interests. With the release date of Gears 5 very soon upon us, we'll go over the story of the Gears of War franchise in this video.

I dont think your gonna be disappointed with Gears 5. You can definitely tell it's different from any other Gears games ever made. However, just like the franchise, it's nothing but awesome! I highly recommend Gears 5 and the entire franchise to everyone. I've played and beat them all. All great games, storylines, graphics, and gameplay. Heres to Gears 5 and the history thereof. 🍻

Having zero knowledge of Gears except General Raam is in Killer Instinct, this sure was a lot to take in. Also, having zero knowledge of Halo except Arbiter is in Killer Instinct is a lot to take in story wise. Yowza.

Thanks Gaming Bolt that's a lot of work put together, expressed in 15 to 18 minutes. Respect!!! Of all the Gears games I have played, I somehow liked Gears of War 2 my favorite though. I would like to see a remastered version of Gears of War 2 for PC and other platforms.

Yeah I had to wait till late 2008 till I got a Xbox 360 so by then I was able to play gears and gears 2 the next year it was so hype wish I could go back

probably gonna get bashed for this but during my childhood i was never too interested in gears of war, at all. i tried it at a couple of friends places but i never got hooked. these days though, i'm reminiscing about the good old days and the great games of the past. i can honestly say that i wish that the gears' franchise was one of them. the story seems bloody fantastic.

@@shawnbrock5836 Think you might be right actually. They were just stealing the plans in the Gears 4 prologue, but they never mention that the UIR have satellites of their own. Then we learn in Gears 5 that they ended up making some, but never launched them.

Haha! Exactly! Everybody who is new to the Gears franchise will never truly understand the entire story and how it all started unless they play them all from start to finish. I absolutely LOVED them all, even though Gears of war 3 and judgement are my favorites so far. I just started gears 5 yesterday, so we'll see if the ones from the past still remain my favorites after I play 5. But so far, so good!

There's a lot of backstory to this universe I want answered in the games. How long ago humans came to this world and where are all the other humans in space? Why did the planet seem to regress in technology? (In gears 5 there a line saying "we created the microships" so did they have to rebuild their tech? and if so why? Was this a colony that crashed landed on the planet? Did they lose lot of tech including space travel as also in Gears 5 they show that another nation had space program and they were surprised they had 'hard suits'. I feel there is a lot of lore we don't get in the series unless it's hidden somewhere in previous games I missed.
