yo im doing the same thing too! road to infinite!!! almost done with halo 5

Beat it yesterday, first time =) Actually story here felt much stronger than all other games combined, so I'm pretty baffled with opening segment here. Although necessity to watch all the terminal videos on youtube to get a full picture is a sin.

@@lacku2677 cant agree, was utterly disappointed by halo 2. Third felt like “just cutting loose ends” with very abrupt finale for every threat in the game) 4 felt as a coherent story from start to finish

Amazing story, just hard to accept cortana went off the deep end , the weapon looks incredible though

I played Halo combat evolve since like 2014-2015 and I finally understand the story

I remember CE to reach but halo 4 was underwhelming I always forget

Dude I feel the exact same way with 4, played it a few times and I still don’t remember some of the story only halo I haven’t played was V. Just started it on game pass!

For real. I think the last one I played was reach isn't that 4?

the story isnt very memorable

You can beat each game in about 3 hours

My first Halo was Halo 3 when I was just 6 years old, played the campaign with my older brother on legendary difficulty which for a 6 year old and a 12 year old is not bad I think

To exterminate humanity. The composer is basically a super weapon, it turns humans into promethions. He needs an army to wipe humanity out and take back the mantle of responsibility

Indeed. The Forerunners had no clue that Ancient Humanity was fighting a war on two fronts. They despised them because Humanity were actually the chosen bearers of the Mantle of Responsibility by the Precursors and ignored the facts as presented to them. They justified the genocide as Humanity trying to invade Forerunner territory, not knowing they were trying to contain the outbreak.

Wasn't it something like the Precursors were the creators of everything, Forerunners included, and the Forerunners killed the Precursors, but the Precursors leave behind a kind of Dust, this Dust becomes corrupted and turns into the Flood

Yeah, if anything it was the other way around. Originally the humans were trying to contain the flood and the forerunners falsely saw them to be hostile

“War with the flood a hundred thousand years ago” they knew about and fought the flood

Just finished Halo 4 for the first time and was looking for a comment on this. I thought he had it incorrect. I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can on my way to Infinite.

Well you will love infinites campaign and probably multiplayer to all around great game and amazing ending to its campaign that that had me thinking about my childhood and how awesome this game was to me.

I enjoyed every single halo I've played so from From CE to Infinite

For me the gameplay is pathetic compared to the Bungie levels even on legendary. Too straightforward, never was I tactically challenged. Cover and shoot works all the time and you get the weapons/ammo for it.

Can only do so much with one character. Should do what reach did

Halo 5’s multiplayer was a solid entry. Halo 5’s campaign can’t be defended. It’s garbage. Halo 4 is solid. Maybe just because it came after the legend that is Halo 3 it was seen as inferior.

@@censedmedal yeah halo 4 had a pretty ok story even though sometimes it was hard to follow.

With *_HALO 4_* and *_HALO 5_* , 343 attempted to elevate the story and move it forrward but as per usual with the rudamentry-minded gaming community, they want every iterration of the franchise to be a carbon copy of HALO's 1, 2, & 3. The gaming industry is *NEVER* going to grow as long as the community keeps clamoring for these cookie-cutter, vending machine games & game mechanics. As far as I'm concerned, 4 & 5 (campaign & multiplayer) are worlds above the first three and makes Infinite look like a game still in alpha development. But hey, what do I know because 343 capitulated to the ignoramous "... _We want another _*_HALO 3_*_ . Master Chief, Master Chief, Master Chief_ ..." crowd. It's so sad, it's comical.

@@GarrickMerriweather Nah I don't think 343 had it right. They swapped out the Halo "cookie-cutter" mechanics as you put it and replaced them with god awful COD "cookie-cutter" mechanics ahaha. I think Infinite is great though, and definitely think they've struck the right balance of old and new. Also, I think it's fair for people to want Master Chief to be central to the games. It's like having God of War without Kratos. Can't wait to play Infinite and see how they continue the story on from 5

But btw fair enough for having your opinion and I respect your right to enjoy the games. Don't get me wrong I liked them too, and I think 343 did get unfairly dunked on. Other long running series have fallen off way worse

I think most of the hate was for multiplayer having a loadout system.

Yeah, I loved running out of ammo within minutes and being forced to use the light rifle for the entire game.

Maybe cause infinite is using a new engine, so its still raw and unfinished

@@SparklingWalrus Stated by who? That's like saying the MCU overrides the comics. Halo 1-3 is cliché as well with the stoic one-dimensional protagonist who has just as much development as Doomguy. Cortana was slowly dying. Of course Chief is going to try to save her.

Hence why halo 4 is a utter failure as a story. The whole point of chief being a “one dimensional” character in the games is because he’s simply a set piece in a bigger picture and not the center of the story at all. Regardless of what you say in your delusion, 1-3 had far superior stories than halo 4. Hell even fucking halo reach had a better story than 4.
