The way Yuri dies so suddenly always stood out too me, like Makarov just kills him so instantly. Usually a main character like Yuri would at least have some long dramatic fight before being killed like that

Makarov’s voice is just really cool. Whenever I hear it I for some reason get chills.

Gen. Shepperd: loses a double agent, causes a world war, gets outsmarted by Makarov also Gen. Shepperd: "I got a blank check"

At the end of the day, Makarov still had the last laugh. Price is alone with all his team and friends dead while the world burns due to Makarov's actions. He may be dead but his "legacy" shall survive in perpetuity

Makrov might be one of the strongest cod villians in history. He survived 2 shots in the back that went trough his chest. He survived a helicopter crash with no blood loss. Survived more than 20 russian swat soilders at the airport. And he survived being hung for like 3 seconds

Makarov has the coolest voice in video games. Second only to master chief. Maybe.

It makes it ten times worse that ghost screams "NO" after roach gets killed

Makarov is an expertly written and compelling villain. It seems literally everything he says can be used as a quote.

The first three MWs and the first two Black Ops are one of the greatest video games I've played. Their stories are just so compelling and you feel so much for the characters.

Watching this in 2022 hits different.

As a person who hasn't played video games in a long, long, time, this is fantastic writing.

I always imagined makarov showing up to the hotel’s front desk in Dubai being like, “uhhhhhh id like a room please. Is the penthouse suite available” “What’s your name sir?” “Uhhh it’s (obviously fake name)” “Hey you kinda look like...” He interrupts the concierge “YEAH I get that a lot, but I can assure you I’m not him hahahaha” He sweats profusely. After the transaction is done he sticks his head outside the door and signals for his men to come in. The concierge then witnesses makarovs men following him with tons of duffel bags. The concierge mumbles to herself “I don’t get paid enough to really care what’s going on here” One of makarov’s boys is excited: “you got us the penthouse? I’m so excited mak-... I mean boss!” And there they stayed until one night two men in juggernaut suits arrived....

What i loved about makarov is how smart and intimidating he is.

My theory about the gas attack in London is because Makarov bought the chemical gas from general Barkov in Urzikstan. And then reproduce the similar chemical gas with his Frigata shipping company which is a front for his wmds and the chemical gas barrels. It makes sense that Barkov and his oligarch cronies were able to have mansions and the fact that Urzikstan isn’t the only place where they stolen the riches from those people.

I never played the other cods except mw3 and the half reboot, but I just knew this guy was a real iconic antagonist
