Eunice was right in the middle of 9 siblings. She was an amazing woman, so admirable, as was her dear husband Sargent Shriver, as a man. They cared and did so much for others!
I was at a shopping mall in Bethesda, MD about 7 years ago and saw Mrs. Shriver and her husband sitting in the middle of the mall. I walked by and they said hi and I returned the greeting. I knew right away who it was
I didn't realize that she had passed until today; after hearing about her brother Edward's passing last night. I did hear a couple of weeks ago that she was critically ill, but never heard any more about her. RIP Ms. Eunice.
Maria sent my mom a very nice letter (on Cali Gov. letterhead!) replying to her remembering Eunice while working for RFK's '64 Senate campaign. Class act.
@lekkki1 Yup! My eyes widened and I was like "Woah! She's strong!" but afterwards I got it. Very respectable considering you mostly see males carrying a casket.
It isn't about weight, it's about respect, honor, and love. The honor of being some of the last humans on this earth to have an actual "physical" (as it were), connection to the beloved deceased. I will miss this great woman tremendously.
Lovely tribute. Was that Joan and Vicki, both of Ted's wives, next to each other towards the beginning? Joan is still pretty. As for Maria, she was amazing.
