The song was recorded (at least) three times. The Wrecking Crew initially recorded the original version of the hit single version. Before release, the rhythm tracks were redone in Detroit with the Funk Brothers, retaining the orchestral tracks. The same was apparently done for the version heard in the film, according to the Motown session logs. So everyone's a little right. "Love id Here and Now You're Gone" is an example of a Supremes song fully done in LA by the Wrecking Crew and released as such.
