Elf Reaction is today's video! Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Elf for the first time today!
Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa's elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results.

6:43 Will's reaction to the jack in the box was real. Plus at 10:54 the guy Buddy mistakes for Santa was a random guy walking across the street and didn't know he was being filmed as part of the movie.

This movie gives me so much second-hand embarrassment, but I love it anyway. Will Ferrell actually got sick from all the sugar he ingested (and the lack of sleep). That's dedication like very few people have! From the man himself: “I ingested a lot of sugar in this movie and I didn’t get a lot of sleep. I constantly stayed up. But anything for the movie, I’m there. If it takes eating a lot of maple syrup, then I will-if that’s what the job calls for.”

The North Pole animals and Snowman are meant to be tributes to movies like Rudolph, but no not the same snowman, no person could replace Burl Ives (person who voiced Sam the Snowman in Rudolph)

Elf is one of Will Ferrell's most iconic films, just as Buddy is one of his best roles! i especially always loved the amount of improvisation that was used in this movie it was all done so well that it made it hard to tell that a lot of the actor mostly Will ferrel had improvised a lot of his acting!

Most of the people on the street when Buddy is running around are actual random people. Imagine walking around New York and see Will Farrell in an elf costume acting like a child. The guy in the red jogging suit Buddy thinks was Santa was not hired or planned. It really was just a guy running by. 😂

It can be possible to train a cat to not claw the furniture. My cats don't because they had their own cat trees and scratching posts since they were babies. That's why they don't claw the furniture, they have their own property to do it.

All the scenes where it's supposed to show off how big he is in the north pole is just some clever camera work. When it look like he's sitting next to everyone, he's actually sitting close to the wall, and the set was made just so that when the camera faces it a certain way, it looks like it does.

A lot of the effects here w/ the elves was trickery of perspective and set design. Something that’d be utilized in Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies.

Do you actually want to adopt a kid one day? That's my life dream too. I personally would go for older children or teens in the foster system who need love more than anyone. I hope that we can both someday give homes to children and love them in the way that they deserve.

A lot of the street scenes with Buddy weren’t scripted. They couldn’t get permits all the time for filming on the streets so they’d drive around find a spot then jump out film it quick get peoples permission and take off. They had to film the scenes where he ate all the sugar twice cause Will got sick the first time.

2 things. the jack in the box scene the director had a remote to pop out the jack so even will Farrell never knew when it was going to pop so the reaction is genuine. 2. please react to a "A Christmas Carol goes wrong"
