@Mana Shield Actually, income is increasing! If you look at the statistics of the median US household income, there has been an upward trend in the last couple of years. Of course, due to covid, the economy has slowed down in 2020, thus negatively affecting incomes. But generally, the median household income is expected to continue the trend of increasing again. The problem of income inequality is not that the average person makes less and less money, it‘s about a few people making more money faster than your average guy. So no, you wouldn‘t be a dingus if you believe that income is increasing

1:32 this is actually something you can currently do to humans except instead of like general science its based on psychology (if I'm remembering correctly) in multiple cases researchers found they could convince human test subjects that stuff they remember happening and did actually happen didn't and vice versa as well as convince them of small changes in a already real memory this is thought to work through a combination of different theories the main one being flashbulb memory this is why memory is so inconsistent between different people who experienced the same thing you slowly convince yourself that something happened in that memory that never actually did which is frankly terrifying because memories make you who you are and if those can be fucked with by yourself and others so easily then is there even a real you (if i got anything wrong please correct me just writing this off the top of my head)

One time recently when I was drunk I found out a couple of my friends hadn't seen goatse, and I literally turned on the TV and showed them all because I decided that they needed to see it. A couple of people we didn't normally hang out with left soon after I did that. I don't care. They were old enough where it was weirder that they hadn't seen it yet.
