Using the extra mini, which means you get two mini sentries, is actualy a really good way of getting a fk ton of crits on the Frontier Justice, just like payload defence & Control Points.

@@nutzeeber yeah, I haven't played much tf2 but I was wrong, it isn't just a mini sentry. The exact stats are: Has a slower firing speed than a normal Mini-Sentry. Cannot be repaired or have its ammo refilled. Cannot be destroyed by the Engineer who made it - it can only be destroyed by an enemy robot or automatically destroyed when the wave ends or the Sentry runs out of ammo. Cannot be wrangled, but still receives canteen buffs. Is 66% the size of a normal sentry compared to the Combat Mini-Sentry's 75%. Is not affected by the building health upgrade (always has 100 max health). However, it is affected by the Sentry Firing Speed upgrade.

...so the classes in the game who by design CAN'T do that amount of damage in any reasonable amount of time without needing to first get close to them.

@@J4hk2 The only classes I can think that cant do 100 damage very fast is medic and maybe spy? Scout does some big damage up close and if he's not then he's got the pistol to chip it down before the gets in the mini's range. Mini's do best when catching you off guard, that's usually the problem, not the health.

@@codaboi138 Again it's the need to get close to do the damage. Because that means time spent taking damage from the thing before you can get in that close range. Scout/Pyro both have this problem., at best mitigated with pistol/shotgun but that assumes they even have them.

@@J4hk2 to be fair both scout and pyro are already at a disadvantage against any sentry. Heavies can take them out fairly easily though may be difficult in a large fight. Demos can 1 shot minis and soldiers 2 shot them. Or 1 shot if they take only 10 damage or are being built

Regular sentries are somewhat designed to have a "downtime" to them, when one is destroyed there is a period where you can move in with the classes that would be otherwise disadvantaged with sentries being present. It gives them room to breathe, which is a much fairer game design. You don't get that with minis, they are too easily replaced. With regulars they get destroyed and then there is a period of time where there is either an absence of them or the opportunity to catch the attempt to replace them mid-build, both allow the less sentry-capable classes some means to be of use. You also on that note get a sense of accomplishment when destroying regular sentries, they are harder to replace, especially if they were a higher level and if they were a lower level you can feel you helped stopped it before it got any stronger. None of that feeling of accomplishment is had with minis.

With the evolution of a class, follows the evolution of it's players. The Engineer used to be much more effective with just Leveled Sentries. Seems like the recent changes to the Engie in the past few years has been a focus on spreading out his viability - which I fully support.

@@glass_currency I think you are misunderstanding and maybe just don't have a grasp on the entire 'history' of STAR_ controversy. The thing STAR_ did as a joke was a long feud with collaborator and probable lover jerma985. It was revealed they are still on amicable terms. The thing Dane (and this comment) refers to in the video is STAR_ quitting TF2 (which is fine, people get bored of games and change interests) and totally disrespecting the community (which is not fine and quite frankly is childish). Hope that clears things up. As far as we know (or at least as far as I know), STAR_ was not joking.

He responds to any questions about TF2 with unprecedented (deserved/undeserved, cross out where appropriate) hostility, and as of December last year (when someone asked him about that on Twitter), some people STILL didn't move on or take a hint that he's gone for good.

4:22 Star_ was well known to dislike the minisentry as it was before its rework and, upon moving on from making tf2 videos, began to show a distaste toward the tf2 community because a ton of people kept bugging him about making more tf2 videos. There's a lot more to it than just that, but it's pretty much what Dane was referring to in a nutshell

Not so easy to take out a mini when (if you're like me and learned this trick from Dane himself!) you put the mini-sentry in a bush that's virtually 100% opaque so you can't even see what the hell you're being shot by, let alone having to deal with the Engi himself firing Frontier Justice Crits at you from when his Mini tagged a random scout earlier, often at the same time.

Also the main thing with it is that it has the SAME range as a normal sentry, which just adds to the annoyance factor.

Star_ even commented on this video about the same things he addresses in his most recent TF2 video you mentioned, and recieved INSANE amounts of harrassment/hate/deaththreats in this very comment section. The community has been shitting on Star_ with irrational hatred ever since he stopped making videos. A treatment that was thrown soley at him for no reason. There's a video of Jerma streaming overwatch during the beta and someone, IN overwatch, goes on a rant to Jerma, who is ALSO playing overwatch, about how much of a piece of shit ster is for playing overwatch instead of TF2. The community has been fucking the guy for a really long time, and it was clear WHEN THIS VIDEO CAME OUT, not only clear years later. A bunch of children being toxic as shit has always been the tf2 community.

Obvious pseudonym Swell guy, I watch him a lot but he has gotten flak in the TF2 community (particularly the competive group) due to the 'pug fiasco'. Long story short Muselk explained how to get into PUGs (about 3-4 years ago), the steam groups to join etc. This led to an outbreak of a lot of newbies and unprepared people flooded the Lobbies for a time. That or some people just dislike Muselk, idk.

I don't like Muselk because I don't find him funny and (at least when he used to only play TF2) all his content was pretty much the same thing. I guess that's cool if you like that, but personally his personality really grated on me. Also his video titles.

***** I would say a mixture of the two. He has gotten gamer burn out over TF2, having played it for about 4-6 years. He also has grew in hatred for the TF2 community due to the constant pestering of 'when the next TF2 video'. That being said how Star_ handled his departure from TF2 was not... professional. He left a single video stating he would be taking a 'break' from TF2 and would be trying around new games. Afterwards he never posted a video on how he was done with TF2. He kind of just did the whole 'if I simply ignore TF2 enough, no one would ask' but people asked and annoyed him to the point to where he called the TF2 community (on stream) a bunch of 'fucking idiots'. I feel both parties were at fault. The fans of Star_ shouldn't have tried forcing him to doing something he doesn't want to do and Star_ should have had better closure than just a maybe and a vanishing.

Ster is an asshole honestly. He got frustrated that his non-TF2 videos got less views, even though he knew that the content that a lot of people liked from him was his TF2 content, especially with Jerma. Does that mean he should have forever just made TF2 content and fucked around with Jerma? No. But he takes every chance he can to shit on the audience who made him popular. Do I blame him for switching to streaming when it's a better way to make money? No, but it would help if he didn't shit on those who got him where he is today. I doubt he enjoys streaming Overwatch day after day either, that seems like it would get pretty tiring after a while.

star doesn't owe you anything, stop acting like a betrayed kickstarter backer. Also he takes every chance to poke fun at anything, that's all he does, not his fault that the tf2 "gibs video slave-star" kiddies gave him so many chances.

Frisky Bits I think ster would have gotten in his place with or without tf2. he was always going to make it because he is good at vidgams and is enjoyable to watch so I dont think it is the tf2 community that put him where he is, just hard work and dedication edit: and sure he gets pissed off when people mention tf2 and videos at him. it happens at least once every stream so yeah. just imagine being poked every day at least once

Firsky bits isnt saying that he owes us anything. He is just clear stating that Star_ is shitting over the very community that GAVE him the money he receives. Without us he would very likely be much much MUCH smaller. Id be suprsied if he had over 50 viewers without the tf2 community.
