Superted is Welsh. First broadcast on S4C in 1982. Broadcast in english in 1983 on the BBC.

One of 2 shows that Hanna-Barbera co-produced with Siriol Animation from Wales, the other being Fantastic Max.

It's no wonder I found Texas Pete's page in the "Hanna-Barbera Villains" category. This show was actually produced by Hanna-Barbera.

No idea, given how the US broadcast of the original show left the voices intact

@@spinballpac-man I do think Mike Young and the BBC made a wise choice to have Derek Griffins and Jon Pertwee to rerecord SuperTed and Spotty's lines for the UK broadcast.

@@thomaswalsh8726 At least Victor Spinetti (voice of Texas Pete) and Melvyn Hayes (voice of Skeleton) were used in both the US and UK broadcasts.
