i picked up the 2023 model and there are a few minor changes. no compression straps on the side. i do wish i had them and no internal pen holder panel. a plus for the new model that i enjoy is the duel daisy chain on both sides of the bag instead of one. keep in mind when purchasing. it’s still a great bag and these changes may be a plus or negative for you but you can’t go wrong with the fuse box if you aren’t going on massive treks and want lots of space
Thank you for this comment. I had the store page open and was considering pulling the trigger on this bag, but no compression straps and no extra internal pockets rules this out for me. I do need a bag with extra carrying capacity from time to time, but I also need the bag to be able to flatten when I don't need the extra space.

this is my second north face fuse box already. my last bag has a side bag for water bottle. I just bought the new version. Surprisingly they added a inner water Bottle Holder. actually you can hook the bottle outside the bag if necessary too.
