Do not worry, your perspective will become less vague over time, by the time you hit 30 you should have a new clarity on what is actually important to you and which things just are societal constructs that you've been programmed to desire.

@@deathbunny3048 I feel that! I genuinely do believe that is how things work in our world. If marketing companies can manipulate us to subtly, I don't think it is that hard for others to do the same.

@@EnGageJackson If you think religion is gonna fix your problem, you are sadly mistaken. Race is your God, and people related to you will REALLY care and have empathy for you. We are Greek Orthodox Christians, who are alot more "conservative" then your bunch in the USA. Sense of community has to do with close genetic ties, something religion will never offer. My opinion is that Christianity in the West has destroyed the European Community and any common sense in preserving our common genetic heritage. The Greek Church serves ITS PEOPLE....not the other way around. We dont serve God, God is something that supports the family. You are all twisted up....no common sense.

yup, it definitely feels that way. in a world of “thats just how the world works, deal with it” i feel like i have so much empathy thats been beaten down by school and my own church (i left because i was never truly respected there) and ive been told by my own brother “you have too much empathy” when i talked about minorities facing bigotry and systemic bigotry, like i see a human suffering, why am i the weird one for caring. i feel like im always shamed for caring and having human emotions and having human behaviour. its so bizarre to me i hope i can find other human beings who want to treat others like human beings

@cloud5544 There's a lot of that careless mean-spiritedness or "it is what it is" attitude going around. My girlfriend and I bought food and a couple of pieces of clothing for a couple homeless a few months back, so know that some of us still care. My opinion is that people can't process news like they use to, we live in a safer society in yet the massive news dump that we get from all places at once makes the world seem more dangerous than it is and leads people with less reason to trust each other. 🤷🏽‍♂️

36 year old millenial here. Just want to say that it only gets worse. Don't waste your time on work. There is nothing worth having that can be gained that way. Ive been working and saving my whole life and every time i get close to buying a house, inflation hits, or the jobs disappear or whatever. My best friend died and I realized ive done nothing but work for other people and I have NOTHING to show for it. Nothing of value, anyway. It's not worth it. Love people, follow your passions. Go mad and risk starvation. Suppreasing yourself for the sake of the job is not worth it. You'll probably fail, but at least you will have TRIED for something you actually want instead of failing at something you feel you SHOULD want.

Something I noticed that deteriorated my faith in humanity is the way people act when nobody is looking. Great example: I happened to pull over in my friends neighborhood on the way home to get a picture of the northern lights that came down into upstate NY and I got some pics and then sat in my car for a little to look at them. While I was sitting there a guy came out of his house to get something in his car and on the way back in I heard him stop before his front door and I looked over and he was just staring at me over the bush in his front yard and then just said “fuck you” then walked in. It was the strangest behavior I’ve ever seen. This was at like midnight. Definitely had a family and was a grown man. I’m 23 and have a nice car. I think the fuck you was for having the nice car? It’s so disgustingly petty out there. Evil and emptiness are all over. People are losing their minds and path in life

I went to school for environmental science. Loved the degree and the opportunities it gave me. Absolute worst decision of my life. Now, I am not only depressed because of the collapse of local communities and lack of social options, I am also scared of the immense challenges our society faces in the future. Challenges, I must add, that we have almost universally failed up to this point, if we even address them. If local communities were still strong, i’d have hope for a future where people take over for themselves when things get worse. Instead, we are growing more polarized at a time when we desperately need to be preparing for disaster.

2 things to things. The "normies" really I mean REALLY screwed up a hell of a lot for being so careless and clueless with everything around them. If you care about anything slightly genuine, it's beaten out of you as a service to them it seems. Secondly, you are an observer. So you see things others honestly almost hate to look at. The future isn't bright if you can see 10 steps ahead, believe me I know all to well about it. However, you have something most don't: Perspective. That's what most people really lack right now. Grind grind hustle hustle doesn't have time for any reflection or perspective. So, when understanding this, I'd say one thing overall to you. Your ahead of the curve man. Now, what are you going to do with that edge? ~Cheers, and sub'd :)

@CrummyVCR "If you care about anything slightly genuine, it's beaten out of you as a service to them it seems." This line is fire, my dude. I'm a small business guy and this one particular thing has been the bane of my entire existence on planet earth. The worst part about it is that it can never be rectified in any meaningful way because NPCs are wholly incapable of introspection or taking on anything that deviates from the script writers that are in charge of coding their firmware updates. They exist to unconsciously and passively torment those who have vision.

I had the same experience growing up and was your age in the early 90s. It's always a shock. We have to find ourselves when that period in life passes and it can take years. Just because it seems that people don't care and that we're alone isn't enough not to do something. We need to focus on self-development and learning, and being productive beyond work-related chores and hours and career related learning. Meaningful learning, meaningful productivity. When we do this we find community, even if it's small and distributed. The truth is, if you're aware, you'll largely be alone in your local context as there won't be many people to related to, but you'll cherish those who can spot you and appreciate you and seek you out, and you'll appreciate your time focusing on what you value. It's a values based life, and once you start developing values, you separate yourself real fast. Impatience comes with youth. It's painful, but believe you me, the older you get the more methodical you can get as well; his allows you to chip away at large projects without the lead blanket feeling that you're missing out and are never going to make it even though you're just 20 something. Age gracefully, understand decline, prepare for the fact that you'll die from an early age, and be prepared to be a martyr for your values about how the world should be to support the human spirit. With that, you can channel it into your work and gain eudaemonia throughout....

Something from a secular viewpoint ... I used to complain to my dad (RIP) that the companies I worked for didn't have good mentorship programs. His response was "you think anybody's going to take time out of their day to teach you anything?!😆" ... he was partially right, but I have found some pretty incredible people who I could emulate - who helped build my skills and knowledge - good friends. I also found a wife I've been with for 32 years (neither one of us are very religious). It all falls into place eventually - but perhaps my biggest regret from my 20s, is the drinking. I was getting drunk 4 days out of the week with my alcoholic friends (I was only doing it socially) - in between, the hangovers brought me to a low point. I was working full-time and had a side-gig. It took me four years to complete a two year Applied Science degree because work and drinking sucked up the time. I could have used my time to do better for myself - but I can't go back - I can only focus on moving forward.

I relate to you 100%. Sounds like we had the exact same childhoods. Going to a church, community of friends. No one around you in your current life has the guts to commit to hanging out or doing anything, no one around you understands you. There's nothing to look forward to. It seems no matter what route you go down, you're still gonna be alone and in misery. Can't get a house, can't find people to share a house with, can't find a community to do things with, can barely find the motivation to even care for yourself. 20:00 I'm 25 now. When I was 21, I hit the road solo. I've been to every lower 48 state multiple times. I've been to every corner of the country. Experienced some insane things. It's worth it to an extent, yes you see and experience a lot. But at the same time, you are alone and have no one to share the experiences with. It almost feels like it was all a dream. But it's so much better then wasting your life "working." I feel you 1000% though. Still sticking to the faith. Jesus is absolutely the truth. But at the same time, this world, and everyone in it sucks so much. It's just how it is. I wish I could tell you the solution. But I haven't found it yet. Just stick with Jesus. He promises paradise after this life. Earth is not our home. It's hard to see past earth, but that's the only hope. 💛

I feel truly blessed to have my small band of friends. I spent many years pining for a deep connection, which is ironic, because I also find it difficult to bond with people. My best friend and I wouldn't be close if I hadn't pushed myself entirely outside of my comfort zone and gone to her birthday party when invited, even though I had only met her once. We wouldn't be close if she hadn't been the kind of person who invites a person they met one time to their birthday! It is astounding the random sparks that ignite close relationships. You never know when some random interaction will bud into something much more. It is hilarious to look back and think of the initial contact you had with someone who ultimately becomes a huge part of your life. Keep putting yourself out there from time to time and tempt fate to bring a bestie your way. Also, you will have wasted years and that is okay. You might even miss the freedom to be bored and spending too much time with your thoughts someday.

You, sir, are on a journey frought with adversity. Take heart. You are 21. You may feel ancient and jaded now, but you have a long way to go still before you can claim those titles. I wish I was 21. I get it, though. When I was your age, I remember not really feeling any relief when someone else told me how young I still was. It didn't seem to make me feel any better about that sense of loss I felt, that disconnection from a better time and place I once knew. Know that it is something all of us experience. Anyone who challenges themselves with growing and finding that better place has to. Why? Because the lucky ones are raised in a relatively controlled and comfortable environment that we come to feel sentimental about. If we are ever to make it on our own, we have to leave that. You are moving forward and away into the unfamiliar. All the people you knew are doing the same which is why that special time is gone. You need this strange and seemingly callous time. You are being tested. You are being strengthened. You can see it like Jesus in the Desert or young Leonidas in the woods (300). You yourself may live with slightly less dramatic circumstances, but the concept is the same. Embrace it. You miss being part of a community? You miss being cared about? You can be that way again but never in the exact same way and especially never without learning that it costs a person something. It costs more than the money you say you don't have (for now.) It costs the proverbial blood, sweat and tears. You are paying for it right now by learning that your freedom has a flipside, that it's on you brother. You shouldn't title videos with words like "No Hope." Are you conscripted into a war zone? Have you been buried under feet of volcanic ash? Are you the resident of a concentration camp? Are you starving? If you can say "no" to questions like this, then maybe you got a shot my dude. When you feel down it can mean that you can still feel pain. It can mean that you're still vulnerable. That's not a bad thing. It means you're stil open to things like love and friendship, that you're not a corpse. Just don't let all that sensitivity go to your head. Congradulations! You're a man! It doesn't have to go downhill from here. Other people will occasionally disappoint you, especially women. You're going to make mistakes. So what? Your mistakes themselves can be memories and hilarious ones at that. Noone else can figure this out for you. ( It's part of the challenge.) People who do manage to find some satisfaction and some degree of meaning have a few things in common: They lean into their discomforts. They keep busy. They try repeatedly. They do things for others. They learn not be afraid of the "work, work, work" but they also put that effort towards a goal. ( Looking forward to the debut of a certain video game is fun but it's not a goal. ) Goals are tinged with a little pain and doubt. When you are busying yourself with toiling through your existence REMEMBER THAT YOU'RE NOT A SLAVE. While you are busy figuring this out you'll notice others on the path. This is where you'll meet your new friends & make new memories. See the love and marriage you want as the reward for having done right, for having done well. Meet your challenges first and women will want to to be your wife. Don't bullshit yourself into believing some chick is coming along for the ride while you figure out what to do with yourself. That's a recipe for disaster. By now, what I'm about to say is an internet trope but it still holds true: Remember, a MAN is the only member of society that isn't loved for who he is but what he brings to the table. You got this. Find your passion and work at it while you have the time and strength to pull it off. Take your lumps but don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. What's the worst that could happen? Ya died trying? Even then you'll have lived more than these idiots who are glued to their phones. C'mon, I'm rooting for ya!

In a sense I guess everything has and end or a limit, and with that being said, the humanity itself is starting to deteriorate. It may seem that we are advancing in technology and everything etc. and whatnot, but the state of the population is like quantity over quality along with the limited resources that we consume. When the going gets tough It'll be inevitable for us to turn to each other, all leading to collapse until the end.

Emotional understanding, is diferent from intelectual understanding. We are living through a transitional time period towards an era of high intelectual capacities, but low emotional wisdom. Thoughts give us survival, but deep emotional conection give us peace, meaning and fullfilment. Modernity has given us light in many ways, but by definition, it also has casted a shadow over many other human aspects, as well. We as humanity are destined to integrate all aspects of our own divine given counciousness. Integration within ourselves yields light, separation within ourselves, yields darkness.

It’s not just young people. We older ones are having the same problems. Ask yourself, How is your life now compared with four years ago? How far we have fallen as a society! Advice, cherish your family. Take initiative to do things together. Have a game night, a back yard picnic. All too soon, you’ll be making arrangements to bury your parents. Stay in touch with your siblings. The day may come when you’re separated by time and distance. Make more home memories. Go back to church! If you don’t have one, join one. Look for a small church where you can get to know people and they can know you. P.S. The President whose name you couldn’t remember is Franklin Roosevelt. Study the Great Depression. Learn from it how to survive tough times.

Fascinating isnt it? So many have come here in such a short amount of time and likely almost none of them were guided by the algorithm but instead by the keywords that they used. We can all feel it, even to the point of reaching out for our own little reasons, connection/empathy, understanding/wisdom, or just for comfort that they aren't alone. We all seeked this out.. it can easily mean nothing and just be happen stance but it's definitely thought provoking, and to say the least, it shows our society is sharing this current pain in a big way.
@WhenDevilsDuel

The happiness you seek won't be found without willfull ignorance or significant political and cultural change. As things are, our society is complacent/decedent at large. Two choices as I see it, stop thinking, disengage from your philosophical self and embrace ego, join the system as the cog that they intended and enforce ignorance upon yourself and others, sounds bad but for personal health and from a logical viewpoint is the better option. Or, spread your viewpoints with those you know, embrace it further by expanding upon your thoughts and think of simple sound solutions, and fight against a morally void system with a strong combination of idealism and logic, eventually the idealism will unify the people into a movement that's hopefully for the better. However if ever that were to happen, I do fear the kind of hate that it would be responded with and how it would immediately be reflected back, something tells me a second free love movement met with federal hostility wouldn't be as willing to turn the other cheek as its predecessor was.

I feel like the reason the world is the way it is now is because millenials grew up in a time where becoming a millionaire became the main focus of life. Back in the old days, it was just a given in life that most people will just be normal. But with college propaganda and the internet creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, making money and the whole hustle culture took over everyone’s life. I can see this changing in the near future as people realize it’s pointless. For the record, I’m 30. I was 22 in 2016. Life was DRAMATICALLY different just 8 YEARS AGO! Hell, just 5 years ago life was different. I think it has a lot to do with how social media and RU-vid and TikTok have gotten so good at captivating people’s attention. And now with inflation just flat out depressing everyone, it’s a recipe for zombies. My mindset from 2019 to now is very different. I’m extremely apathetic. It’s hard to care because money’s hard to come by, people are hard to come by, so what’s the point? Exactly like what you said near the end of the video.

I am a Gen Z myself and feel the same "jaded" feeling about the modern world most of the time. Indeed it does feel "lacking" and lonely most of the time. We have all the necessary resources but just don't know how to pursue them and I think it has a lot to do with lack of human connectivity. Having traveled to Eastern Europe many times since my family is from there, a lot of the people whether rich or poor, feel very connected or get along, unlike in most western developed nations, which is quite ironic because the United States, for example is a first-world country yet people in the USA complain over little things such a car dent or internet loss, in other words, "first-world problems". Now, nowhere is perfect, and even the idea of a prosperous civilization have big flaws. But my point is that with the smartphone invention and social media craze, it's deluded many Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha and even worse is that many of us lads slander each other like if we always want to be right and justified in every situation which amplifies the loneliness and distaste for the world. I hope that sooner than later, we realize this the hard way because eventually, the older generation that got to live outside and make friends and meaningful relationships will slowly die off, and we'll have to fend for ourselves and provide for future generations to come.

In the beginning the internet took long to load each website, the images were tiny of low quality and the news were largely text based. Nowadays its 24 hour news cycle on steroids, and its high quality, algorithm pumping, stimulating madness. This can not be anymore. You will need to practice to love yourself first before the ideal friends and "SP" shows up in your life. 2. You attract things into your life as you think of them. A day full of crappy, depressed thoughts, ideas? Well guess what? You are basically asking for more. 3. You mention church. Well they probably didnt mention Jesus died on the cross because he said Ye Are Gods. We are all gods and can create our own abundance and happiness. They easiest way is to just think of what you want and to feel self love (high energy aka quantum physics). It will basically do the work for you. 3. Be aware of your thoughts, check out Joe Dispenza. I used be all sad and depressed and thinking just like you, but now I'm living every moment feeling more happiness and love. The good, the bad, the news is all just love and experience this planet is going through right now. Start your spiritual path and realize who you really are. ❤❤🙏🙏

In many ways, social 'Technology' like Facebook is really awful, but VR includes visual moving avatars and body language. You're also free of location or even Timezones. I've chatted with people in Japan, Sweden, and Russia. Bringing that issue to the physical world, money is tight and that reduces people's Economic Mobility. We should ideally be able to travel and find the people we click with best. Me for example, I'm just here stuck in my small town, but I'm really a city person at heart, but it's just to expensive to for me to relocate and start over. Anyway, it was a much better time to live in my view.

I was born in 1970, I agree with you. I will also say that those decades were not perfect either, but for the most pat, still much better times. I think maybe we became a little too entranced by all this fancy technology, everyone is hypnotized b the great glowing rectangle in their hand. Things really started to change when those things showed up. We started disconnecting from each other, and living in fantasy lands. "socializing" in text only environments. It THIS even "socializing", I don't think so, we are all STILL alone, staring at the great glowing rectangle.

It's not you, America has become a shallow husk of what it once was. I was born in 1990 and I can assure you post 9/11 is the start of the downhill trajectory. It was slow at first but got faster and faster after the 2008 crash, the rise of wokeness and covid. It's a very massive, complex problem with many nuances, but it is real, it's not all in your head. Things aren't ok, and what has me feeling the worst is idk when or how things will get better at this point. The current situation in America is unsustainable. This isn't the future that was placed before us in the 90s and early 2000s. There was so much hope, excitement, big dreams and plans, but instead it turned into this unpredictable clown world.

We went trough this before thats why we can sense it now. Its not about generations its about our journey. People that shares the same sensitivity to sense this kind of shifts in our reality are the ones with longer journeys under their belts. I came very curious to this world. As a young kid i was asking deep questions and not getting a single answer to this day. You need to stay true to your nature. In the end only love remains.

You are right dude. I am probably twice your age. Things were NOT like this before. Me and my friends refer to it as the "Great Degradation" . Everything looks, tastes and smells different now. It is almost like there is a different light being cast on our social landscape. It is hard to pin down or to quantify but it is tangible. You're not alone in this.

To everyone here, i recommend the book Tribe by Sebastian Junger. It's not a very long book, im not much of a reader and i finished it in a couple days. He speaks on loneliness and belonging and starts the book by pointing out that in early America captured colonists often elected to stay with the native tribes or colonists would even voluntarily join the tribes, but this rarely happened the other way around. Serves as a jumping off point for discussing how western society is so unattractive and alienating.

Everything has been commodified, including relationships. It's been this way since the 1980s to varying degrees, but ever since the crash in 2008 and covid, it feels like living in a swamp of it now. No politician is going to stop it, no change of government. There are some seriously disruptive things on the horizon, like the possibility of WW3, AI rendering hundreds of millions of jobs obsolete and of course, climate change. I have no real words of comfort to offer, other than to say millions of people are feeling this. We need a revolution, I don't mean a violent one, but something will give soon. Otherwise, this system we live under is going to eat everything, including us.

Your transparency is refreshing. In many ways, adult life is about carving your own path. We spend the first 18 years of life being told what to do, and the remainder of our lives is about figuring out how to undo those first 18 years -or at best, figuring out what we need to keep or what just doesn't apply. We come to find out how complicated this really is. You are on the right path, and the answers will come. Blessings!

I think it's going to get worse for a bit and things will break. Capitalism is failing. But I wouldn't want to live in any other time. I feel like since i no longer give a shit about fitting in or being socially accepted, i feel liberated. With my new job i can finally afford to indulge in my autistic passions. I can be a wizard in my own house tinkering with projects. I lift weights and am very physically active now. Feels good.

This is how I get by. Money has never held as much value to me as time. Because of this I have to spend my time doing things I enjoy and feel passionate about. Through my twenties and early to mid thirties I was a professional musician and recording engineer. From my mid thirties up to now in my early forties I spend all my time growing and breeding cannabis. God always provides enough for me to get by following my passions. The older I get though the more time I have to spend doing these things I’m passionate about in order to pay the bills and even though I love what I do I definitely miss the communities of friends that I used to have. The older I get the more isolated I become it seems.

Gen X here , you needed a roommate to afford rent in the 90’s , we got paid less. It’s inflation. We didn’t have much awareness for things like mental health, political correctness didn’t exist. Never heard about adhd. But yes, I’ve never expected people to be there in the hard times, people are fickle and self centered. It’s very true. It’s very hard to find a community, Get the van and do it, if you really want to. Don’t talk yourself out of things. You don’t know how it will play out

You are still young. Don't give up. Most men don't really figure out what they want to do in life until they are in their 30's. Just focus on self improvement. Go to the gym, workout, read books, learn skills. Go to a trade school and learn a trade. Get a job, save up money. One day, you will meet a woman who appreciates you.

This generation has been screwed. State college was so cheap for me- I could work two jobs all summer and pay for it. While living at home. College debt is insane now- not worth it unless med school or nursing. Now AI is taking jobs. The plandemic. The coercion for shots. I’ve lost several young people to suicide from despair. Countries are getting flooded with people who have no intention of paying their way. Half your income goes to taxes and fees. We might have to share land. Have an LLC so people have ownership. Then people aren’t paying high rent, have time for friendship and music and travel. They are pushing people into vehicle life and next they will make that difficult too. Keep going with this.

religion was , is , an it will be allways a business, no matter what religion.. is just a plot made by smart men to control weak men ( people in general) since the begining of mankind manipulation is a real thing, they ruled the world , they put kings in their thrones and kill them when they need it.. you are a good person, if you see no path.. you must be strong and create your own, there are good peolpe all over the world you will find them so keep going foward, dont look back... and yes people are egocentrical is just how we are wired our own survival is a genetic defense mechanism, thats why man allways puts himself first.. is just survival instincts not becouse we are bad or good, and people like to be arround strong figures, so if you are alone , be strong and everything will fall in place, im from latam so maybe i made a mistake in this words, hope it helps
