The Future of Cartoon Network: 2018 & Beyond (Analysis) 

I think CN needs their own streaming service like netflix or hulu. It would need a lot of their older shows that people loved with new original cartoons being added as they are now. I think its a great idea for the network and it would make viewers like myself much happier with our lives.

Holy shit, I am SO glad Welcome to My Life gained so much traction, that short was so chill and showed so much potential, especially with conflict resolution.

Oh where has my Adventure Time gone?

I honestly don't see a Bright Future for Cartoon Network. Not with Christina Miller and Vishnu Athreya around.

I think cartoon network needs to realize who their potential viewers could be. & that is adults who like cartoons. & I'm not talking adult cartoons like family guy, american dad, & rick & morty because obviously a lot of people love this stuff and this is why Adult Swim does so good! I'm talking cartoons like Billy & Mandy, Regular Show, Fosters, Ed Edd n Eddy etc. They need to base their channel around cartoons that kids and the parents (who grew up with cartoon network) can enjoy. If kids today aren't watching Cartoon Network then switch to a different market, which is Adults who love kids cartoons, (but good kids Cartoons) not stuff like Uncle Grandpa, & Ok Ko. Stuff that kids and parents can watch together and laugh together. This is what the channel once was.

I wouldn't mind if gumball went down a spongebob path. It still shows good quality and is one of the best shows on the network.

I need Infinity Train to be a full series man

From Regular show, Adventure time, Gumball, and Steven Universe. To Clarence, Powerpuff Girls 2016, Teen Titans Go, the new Unikitty, and sorry people, We Bear Bears. You can DEFINITELY see the tone of the Christina Miller era, when you compare it to the revival era of CN. Shows of that era wasn't just making classics, they sparked a new wave of creativity world building. We had great shows & classics, but none pushed limits of creativity in AGES compared to the big 4 of the revival era. Now look at these shows today and see what they got going for themselves? It's all the same thing. If it's not a super silly obnoxious, plotless show, it always has to be some water downed, safe, slice of life , down to earth cartoon. You see some magic in this show, but it suffers for wrong reasons. Watching *Clarence* is like watching a real life childhood. It doesn't go over the top. It doesn't push any imaginative boundaries. You're just watching kids playing around. That's it. *Teen Titans Go* (yeah I know , but I'll say it anyway) is the most in your face, annoying, obnoxious show anyone can watch on the network. There could not be an ORIGINAL Teen Titans. Like it's back then before OG TT were created, and we got TTG. This will be classed on the same lines as Coconut Fred, as some like it, but a lot HATE IT cause the tone of the show is. *Lego Unikitty* however, is Teen Titans Go done right. It's still got the loud, obnoxious vibes to it, but it also has some charm being light hearted, than TTG being mean spirited. Both suffer from the same MAJOR issue.... It's incredibly forced, and only made for market, and having kids watch nothing but people screaming and looking at bright colors. Finally, *We Bear Bears.* Just cause it's on here doesn't mean I hate it. I'm in love with this show, but at the same time, it suffers from what Clarence has.... It's just 3 bears living in a down to earth city... That's it. It's greatly passable though cause you can enjoy the plots and backstories it brings, but it shares that problem where it's not doing too much in the imagination, and it's dull. It's not like old cartoons didn't do this either, and suffered. *Sheep In The Big City* is the opposite of what WBB represent. It shared the same setting, but was wacky, had a overall plot, and it was really weird to see at least see a little of what was going on. Suffered from being too obscured, but it did more than what WBB done to make it underground memorable in the cartoon cartoon era. *So what I'm basically trying to say is,* CN really put themselves in a weird unnatural position. The only saving graces it has going is *OK KO: Lets Be Heroes.* A great show that can soon rival what Steven Universe represents. Steven Universe is a power house in the magic genre. O.K K.O focuses on being a power house in the light hearted action genre. Both infinitely expanding their worlds, while giving powerful laughs and stories along the way. This is why I wanted *infinity Train* to enter the ring as well. OK KO opened the doors, but CN plans on closing it again with Unikitty. Which is a shame on all 3 new cartoons mentioned. Then all I got nothing else to say here. You look at what shows in the 2010's did compared to the shows we got now, you can definitely see there's a tone shift on what defines a "Cristina Miller" era in this company.

I think that Cartoon Network needs to start taking notes and learn a few things from Nickelodeon. Cause unlike Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon on the other hand is able to make a lot of good things happen. Yes television is dying, that's not necessarily the case for why Cartoon Network is failing. The real reason why they are failing is cause of the fact that they don't have any good content on their channel anymore. And because of that, hardly anyone is tuning in. Plus they're not trying out anything new. Like for example, back when Cartoon Network was airing live action in the years 2009 and 2010, they were not only trying to combat both Disney and Nickelodeon with airing some live action shows, they were also experimenting on some interesting cartoons through out the day. Plus all of their cartoons weren't comedy based. They were able to air some clever action cartoons. Ben 10 Alien Force, The Secret Saturday's, Batman the Brave and the Bold, Star Wars the Clone Wars, all those action cartoons were really what made the network stand out and was a breath of fresh air. Basically what I'm saying is that Cartoon Network always used to be experimental with their shows. Now a days they're not doing that anymore. Instead they're trying to play everything safe. And it's just not working.

I stopped caring for CN after the good ol' days. Sonic Boom moved to a shittier channel but I still enjoy it (online) and Pokemon moved to Disney XD (but I watch it subbed online). CN is a joke. Kids don't know any better tho. They laugh at fart jokes. The only people watching CN is for Toonami/Adult Swim where good shows exist.

Someday, Cartoon Network will be some group of shows on Hulu, and kids will look at this video and say “Wait, there was a Cartoon Network Channel?”

I do hope the acquired cartoons gets treated better because how they treated Pokemon and Sonic Boom really has me worried about how Mega Man and the others will do.

After Twelve Forever got picked up by Netflix don't be shocked if any of the other Cartoon Network shorts that haven't been confirmed yet wind up getting picked up by Netflix in the future. Also Teen Titans Go has been renewed for a 5th season.

I stopped watching Cartoon Network since 2010 and looking at it now its still getting worse with no improvements. I am so mad that they did the Powerpuff Girls reboot in 2016 and it just looks so childish and not really the one I grew up with. Really disappointed with Cartoon Network for all the stupid decisions they have made in the first. I really hope in the future that they can improve the network, if they don't then I can see Cartoon Network shutting down if they don't make much money.

It's really cool that CN broadcasts their channel in other countries as well. When the channels in other countries the network in the channel of the other country will make their own series of their own in that country

Stuart Snyder may have gave us good stuff like adventure time, regular show and gumball but he started the corruption that messed CN up 1st and it all started due to the 2007 Boston bomb scare caused by Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Movie promo stunt fiasco that got him there in the 1st place. Snyder ruined CN 1st with the live action shows and he did not do it alone. CN's chief content officer Rob Sorcher and advertisement manager Paul Condolara helped him and the influences from them is what corrupted and brainwashed Christina Miller into messing up the channel again. So its NOT all Christina's fault, Snyder's lackeys got her loco and mainstream corporate media played a role.

Is Nickelodeon's Main Channel a sinking ship?

One thing I've noticed from watching your videos on CN is that a lot of these newer lineup shows all seem to revolve around a particular style. Not trying to make a reference to that "CalArts Meme" but, at least to me, it does seem like they all center around a particular look. There's almost no where near the same style variety that CN had back in the 90's and 00's. Watching this video and seeing the line up you're predicting at the end, I think I can understand why CN would play it "safe" and stick to a visual they know works. I stopped watching CN years ago so I have no clue what the line up looks like now, so I could totally be wrong on this lol

As of March 2018, Christina Miller is starting make good decisions. -They have given us 2 good new shows this year so far. -Infinity Train was announced greenlit for 2019 -Victor and Valentino was announced greenlit for later this year -They are now showing short clips of new episodes of shows in advertisements, which matters a bunch because it gives us an idea of what the episode will be like and whether or now we want to tune in.

Nice video my guy. It's sad that a channel like Cartoon Network has to be undermined with a streamline type of service. I understand that in this day in age streaming services like Netflix and Hulu are the thing to do. Something you pointed out the brand recognition and cartoon network was at the lower end is sad to see.

I miss The Regular Show and Adventure Time. Those 2 shows were my shit as a kid.

My two cents on the CN issue is that they should bring back some older popular shows obviously not all of them but a few to mix with their newer stuff I think that would satisfy the older fans and the younger generation giving an easy medium to steady themselves till they can get better shows. What do y'all think of my idea?

I heard something along the lines of: since poison ivy and Harley became more of a thing in comics, poison ivy is now more of a anti hero with Harley. I was surprised when I heard this! I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it kinda explains why I don’t see her in Villain stories and stay the villain anymore.

You know what would be awesome, making an hour long episode of a neighborhood which is full of ended cartoons such as fosters home for imaginary friends, Clarence, regular show, adventure Time, etc.

Say what you want but I'm kindof interested in Unikitty at least it'll be better received by viewers because we dont have an expectation of what it's going to be like with Teen Titans Go.

What would be amazing would be to open the vault and air some of the old cartoon city stuff on boomerang. That would satisfy a lot of the old guard fans like myself, and allow the new fans to have their own era.

I never knew CN had so many shows. All I see when I flip past is Teen Titans Go. I'm so tired of the network shoving that show down our throats, when they have shows like Gumnall and OK KO that are actually decent. I'm looking forward to Mega Man and (hopefully) Infinity Train. If I ever graduated from high school, go to a animation college and maybe work for cartoon network some day, I will create a show that might appeal to people's eyes.

The thing is it could all be fixed, and they COULD make a 10 year plan thatll eventually phase out the cable channel and move to a live streaming service, there is literally no end to the potential of what cartoon network could do in the future, if it brought back all of its old content, continued with new content. It would bring all generations together and it would be successful.

I miss all the shows cancelled or hurriedly ended in 2008 by Miller, basically hurting millions of childhoods. The future wasn't all bad, though, what with Adventure Time, Regular Show and TAWOG being considered for airing. I just missed the good ol' days...

As informative as the video is I may have to disagree on merchandise being the only thing that kept the network alive. yeah it's such a shame the rough spot Miller is in but the thing is we have to consider though she kinda brought this on herself, considering her current business practices. she isn't doing anything to stop the ship. She's just sinking the ship even further by not adding any variety at all in the schedule and constantly pushing the app and ignoring shows like Steven universe and we bare gears that barely get advertised. The reason the network is failing is because the network is being completely mismanagemed due to them completely disrespecting their own original programming like AT RS and SU. Toys and merch alone shouldn't be the only things to keep a CARTOON NETWORK afloat. Keep in mind that when adventure time ca,e around it wasn't a hit because of them wanting to sell merch or cash in on a brand. Adventure time was a hit because it was a breath of fresh air with unique storytelling. Heck it SAVED the network. She has the ability to stop a sinking ship but she's pretty much letting it sink and doing nothing. It's great that we have Craig up the creek sure but she hasn't done much to fix the current schedule or the complaining ints from fans about the constant TTG marathons meanwhile nick is doing much better since they actually listen to fans and have more variety. Yes CN ratings are declining but that's because she isn't doing to improve the programming. The network playing it safe is the very reason why CN is in the sad state that their in. They don't try anything new anymore and aren't as expiremental or takes risks as much as they used to which is what made them a success in the past and appealing to all ages but sadly Miller just seems to be pandering way too much to the younger demographic which in turn drivers away more long time viewers of CN. Maybe if there was better TV scheduling more people would watch the network again, I don't believe that TV is down for the count yet since adventure time regular show Gumball and SU have all had amazing TV ratings all thanks to the variety and creativity in those shows

Sad thing about Cartoon Network now, is that you only see Teen Titans Go as a show. I mean Indinity Train was one of the best shows I’ve seen in awhile on Cartoon Network but guess what.
