I got this in the UAD sale. It’s superb. I didn’t realise how much room noise was on my live audio tracks - especially acoustic guitar.

Mo I'm considering getting this. I was curious about this being used on guitars, particularly electric guitars. How does it do with hum/buzz from hot pickups?

I like CVOX more than Waves Clarity, easily. I love how it's real time and I just put it in my UAD console and just sounds good without any latency. I have a bit trouble with Waves Clarity in real time.

You get some high-end och body from the room reverb that you are taking away, sometimes we actually are happy with the little room reverb if it doesn't bounce around too much and creates a lot of other weird effects that it often does. The interesting part is how it sounds different to one fully done vocal with added reverb and delay to the another with the same setting but using C-vox. Crazy expensive though

Yea, it's pretty wild! We like room reverb if it's a great room! Haha... Most are not.

If you had too pick one UA Api gate or c-suite if money not a issue of rnb recording 🙏🏼 for the back ground noise

I think they both come in useful for what they do... The C-Suite would only go on stuff I really needed to fix and FAST! Ie., guitar buzz.

Excellent video. It´s better to spend 349 on treatment. The voice looses articulation and detail that seems to be more important in the end. It does not take out the ambience tone. For noise elimination during recording seems more useful. Cheers, mate!

Imagine your client wants to record a podcast on location in a mostly glass room. This a great tool for helping ensure control over the monitoring quality and reasonable recording results.

@@WestonStephens I agree, it's a great gate or a tool to facilitate monitoring in those locations, but it won't improve the sound of a bad room.

I started my demo a few days ago, will keep working with this. So far, I'm pretty underwhelmed. Whenever I got the noise really taken care of, the signal was unusable. Decay of acoustic guitar notes sounded super unnatural and choked. While I'm kvetching: Could you proof read your intro? "You're dog" will be grateful.

@@225maine Yea, but sometimes you gotta capture the moment when you're not in a perfect studio environment... I always think the performance is 1,000 times more important than the recording quality.

I think this is better to be used in live recording than in post ( nothing against using it in post) but I mean usually in post you've specific noise floor to work with so in this case izotope RX maybe a better choice. also another important thing is that is is better to render in place the file you're denoising and better to have a lead noise before the signal you want to denoise as it will recalculate denoising every time and it will be affected negatively if u cut out the spaces between lines, etc

Yes. Agreed... BUUUUUT, I think you're missing the whole point of this plugin! This plugin was made as a "real time" alternative to offline processing, whether it's in a "live" situation or in post, it can be a good tool for both. Plus, in a controlled studio recording environment the noise and room tone will stay pretty consistent, making this a very powerful tool to be running off of a DSP engine from the UAD in realtime for tracking. This video of course is just one example and demonstration of the plugin. Cheers!

I totally agree with you on that! Soothe 2 has a breaking point though... Where the artifacts and harmonic distortion kick in and just ruin it for me

Yup, over priced for sure! RX is what I use. It does blow the comp if you put in on like a plug in. Found that out the hard way. Hahaha.

Yeah, the magic here is latency free, real time noise reduction. I work in long form and batch processing a 12 hour book or a 3 hour podcast in RX can take hours longer for each process you need to run. This can quell running extra noise reduction and de-reverb by running them in real time, at the source, both are quite lengthy RX processes at high quality. This can be a huge productivity boost for long projects.
