I'll be watching to see what you come out with, in terms of a wax. Sounds like it could be a nice enhancement over ceramic? And yes, waxing a car the old fashioned way, is relaxing for some of us 🙂
Thank you for a very knowledgeable video as I learned about AI and seat bolts. Wax is a wonderful product and is the protection I offer in my basic package. I cannot wait for the DIY wax to come out as my neighbors car needs a wax which fills. I still remember a few years ago when my wife used a that household microfiber towel which was moist to clean the dirty shower door. This was a humbling moment realizing water cleaned this well. DIY microfiber towels are superior in quality and should be bought. For really dirty tires and wheels I add an ounce of Incredi Suds to the tire bucket. Then I have another bucket to put in the perforated synthetic towel when using iron remover. This keeps my rinseless bucket from stinking up the interior. Thank you awesome DIY team!
I remember, as a kid, i used to use news paper to clean the glass end tables at my Moms house and i also used to use cheese cloth to wipe off wax in the early 2000's.
Hello DIY Detail, thank you for all the great info video's y'all do, they are helping me tremendously. I just ordered my first bottles of you Quick Beads and Rinseless wash and am looking forward to using them... if only that big red sponge had been available... well, I'll keep watching for it to be available....
What i really love is the choice we have across all aspects of detailing. Pick something that works for you or try something new. Your situation changes, so look at alternatives that now suit you. Im glad you're expanding your range because we're all different. Ps, i really enjoy these videos and learn so much, so thank you.
Love your down to earth videos. I now use DIY rinseless dampened microfibre for almost all interior cleaning. Follow up with interior clean and protect. Carpets are so easy to clean after using your interior ceramic. I live in the country and shoes are always dirty your products save me so much time and give excellent results. Can’t wait for your wax!
I used TW ceramic graphene paste wax. It's really amazing! The beading and sheeting is next level but the shine is the cherry on top. Then you add ceramic gloss topper it takes it to the next level. You should do something.
I love these ‘podcasts’. Yvan is a guy I could sit and talk to for hours about detailing theory, but this is the next best thing! Edit: Just followed the podcast on Apple. Thanks, guys!
Can't wait for you guys to drop your new spray wax. Quick question, do you guys think that a spray wax has better filling capability than a spray sealant / ceramic coating? And does that filling ability affect the final gloss level?
Relatively new weekend warrior here who just bought their first new car after driving used for 30 years. Love the idea of ceramic but the thought of having to use abrasion to recoat in a few years scares me so been using old school colinite wax instead. Probably not a real concern but that’s where I’m at.
We've got quite good wax today, much better than we had years before, the durabilty has been dramatically increased, the technology evolved, yvan, do you think science can still bring new things to wax in the future ?
well said sir but on the issue of seat there are some seat that no amount of dry cleaning done on them the excess dirt will remain until they are removed and wash.how do you clean a seat that is soaked with blood or engine oil
Gyeon Q2 is one of the nicest "traditional" waxes I've ever used. I think it has a cure time, because the first day or so it was just meh. After it sat in the garage for a week it started to look and work better. Application is really nice, it just spreads and keeps spreading with so little. Jeweling with gold standard polish reminded me of Q2 application which is even more lubey and wet than GSP.
usually if someone is selling thier car and wants to do a paint enhancement I will throw in a wax just so the paint looks absolutely stunning and theres just that little protection
I'm loving these videos.I just bought a bunch of diy detail items,I can't wait to use them. Does storing it out in the cold in a garage affect shelf life?
Hi guys , its interesting that you mentioned about applying wax over a cefamic coating as this comes up many times in a detailing forum that i am a member of. The common answer when someone asks if they can use a product containing some form of wax on coated car is, dont use it as it will "clog" your coating and that its a different beast altogether and the 2 dont play well. Obviously you dont agree with this. Thanks
I believe ceramic sprays and polymers are great and serve purposes...buuuut, I do think wax and the fillers they provided do great things for the visual on paint. I detail and wash a lot of cars a week, as carefully as possible and still micro marring occurs. I kinda want to do some traditional wax on a few cars on my route and study the spider web effects. Just thinkin out loud.
Hi . I enjoy all your videos and podcasts. I think waxing is very enjoyable experience when you look after your vehicle. I would like to know if your products are going to be available in South Africa in the near future ?
Any estimated time line on when the 3" Red Jeweling pad will be released? I've thought about cutting a larger pad down to size with a sharp crafting utility knife but don't want to risk "serrating" (so to speak) the edges of the pad. I've also thought about heating a 3" leather punch or cookie cutter up but I know that when using a hot-knife to cut foam in the construction industry, it definitely changes the properties of the foam where the hot metal wire has passed through it. It makes a sort of crust on the edges and who knows how it effects the rest of it for the next ⅛" or ¼" of the foam on a chemical level of the small foamed air bubbles. A CNC water jet would probably be ideal for this. I've also seen talk on a version 2 rinseless wash. Any time line on that too?
@@diydetailofficial good to hear on both accounts! I just bought another gallon of rinseless as my first gallon is coming to an end. By far my favourite rinseless wash!
@@clints8888 It has the best cleaning power and slickness, uses the least amount of product overall as it's the same 256:1 dilution ratio for everything. From exterior, interior, glass, clay lube, etc. out of the ones I've used. It never streaks on paint, plastic or glass. It's a fantastic glass cleaner. It's just such a versatile cleaner. I use it to wipe down gym equipment, furniture, counter tops, etc at home too as it does have disinfectant properties. It has a nice light apple scent to it as well! Pair it up with the legacy sponge and it just releases all of the dirt off the sponge prerty much as soon as it hits the rinseless wash. It also works excellent in the LC pad washer. Cleans up the DIY Detail and LC pads that I have extremely well. I like the fact it is polymer and surfactant based. Seems to help break down dirt and grime better. It also softens hard water which is an awesome feature. I'm not sure if others do that or not.
@@clints8888 I prefer my washing products to have no protection/ceramic/sealant in it. I like it just leaving bare paint or coating and applying a drying lubricant/topper to it. That's just my personal preference though.
Really informative and I am a convert to rinse less washing. Where I live I do have an external water supply but it's not that convenient to bust out the hose and/or the pressure washer. My one concern is I feel I'm neglecting the wheel arches and under the car generally. Not sure if there's an answer out there I haven't thought of yet.
Can’t wait for you guys to come out with a tire dressing applicator, the one product I feel in the detailing game that gets ignore and been waiting for one good one for yrs.
