One would wish that the closeness of the European Union to Ukraine was not just a continental closeness. Mr. President Emmanuel Macron. As a child of the French Revolution, I expected a humanist perspective from you. Mr. President Emmanuel Macron. So the reason you were on Ukraine's side was the destructiveness of the war, the deaths of innocent people and the injustice of Russia. But still, I know that you are a good-hearted person, and I thank you for not remaining unresponsive to Russia's attack on Ukraine, even if only verbally.
