I think we'll definitely see a huge shift away from traditional colleges and learning environments. I would love to see some more hands-on experience, rather than lectures.
Here we have unimaginative capitalism at its best: the existing model is running out of room to grow profits, so instead of innovating the pedagogy itself, you simply piggyback on existing technology to cut costs and expand the addressable market.

“To give them the kind of education we got” - I certainly hope these 3rd world people DON’T get that. The world today needs drastically different models of education, not a mass media regurgitation and a cost-saving professor-to-student ratio of thousands to one.
How about we start teaching electronics and electricity in High Schools , We have woodwork/Metal work/Cooking /Sports BUT NO TECHNOLOGY CLASSES IN A WORLD RUN BY ELECTRONICS ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
If this was true wouldn’t libraries of free books have already made colleges obsolete? Shouldn’t those 1980s VHS “become a locksmith” programs been used to replace medical schools? I mean I can learn everything I need to know to remove a kidney from RU-vid right?
