Dark doesn't represent the "ideal" way to play Rocket League. But what he does represent is just how much farther we can push the skill ceiling in this game. Dark proves that it's not just possible, but viable. Now it's just a case of everyone else catching up so the meta can evolve once again.
he reminds me of myth in the early fortnite days. the fastest player we know of, that is consistent in what he does and who will change (and has changed) the way we AND PROS play the game.
darn rlly if you think about it, is kinda the opposite of zen. if you look at darks replays, you will see that his mechs are insane, he is extreamily agressive, and he gos for bumps a lot in 3v3 while zen on the other hand plays defencive and back a lot and waits for his chance to strike. This new era of mechanics is actually scary based on how insane people are getting. the combos of dashes is brobly the scariest part because you could become extreamely fast by just learning these dashes, mastering them, and comboing them in any way. i am though exited to see this new era of insane mechanics.
@@abel-theWalkingCatDragonDuck i don't think so mate dark always hangs in the top 30 to 100 player range while zen in the top 5 zen,s style of perfect touches is very formidable
From the production to the subject matter, this video is next level. Editing is top tier. Rocket league RU-vid needs more of these documentary style videos. Instant subscribe 10/10 video and I can’t believe you have only 500 subs. I must have found you early and can’t wait to watch you grow. Keep up the documentaries im about to go check out the rest of your channel.
The pogo is actually genius... allows you to save boost by avoiding air dribbling.... we just never realized it because no one could consistently hit it fast enough.
Dark's playstyle is not a series of mechanics you learn, either you have that kinda skill or you don't. Playing like a pro is something you can practice, but playing like Dark requires more confidence and instinct than most people have.
despite being 15? bro thats your best age to gain a lot of mechanics in video games where the brain is very flexible to learn and adapt. it’ll be far more impressive if it was a 30+ year old player pulling these off. great vid and insane playing skills by dark though!
ok now make a follow up video talking about his recent games with AND against Zen. and tell me, again, that he makes mistakes. bro made the world's #1 GOAT ff.
I’m sure in 20 years this will be very unimpressive. But he will be the first. I really think he will inspire the next generation of rocket league plauers
The 2024 skill ceiling will be all about knowing how to outplay the epic shit's servers while epic fortnite dances all over this new 40$ decal as they take a shit over the game because its not forknife and dont give a fuck
Dark got thrashed by flakes . He plays unpredictable, and flakes always says "Let them do the shits not threatening, not threatening." 😂😂 dont get me wrong, dark is good, but be realistic 😂 Oh, and the pogo would eventually get read like a book. The thing about high-level players, especially the pros, is eventually they read you.
the way he plays will never translate into 3s!!! Hes a 1s show match player an always will be!! Until he has to go college/uni an will fizz out the scene. Cos theres not really enough money in 1s alone.
This play style is only really viable in 1s and 2s. In 3s, someone will be instantly challenging you when you go up to do your fancy mechanics. But yeah, Dark is phenomenal and I hope he proves me wrong. I'd love to see him pull of crazy plays in team play.
He is innovative in a way where pros will see his use of mechanics and change it around to a more efficient way. He will just show that it's possible and this is what makes him important
It’s good that we saw some light of dark and his play style in his rlcs qualifiers! The team he built (zone) against rule one was staggering and gave them a heck of problems to deal with.
Right now you are absolutely right but I bet in two years anyone who can’t wall dash like him will be severely disadvantaged and his ability to think outside the box mechanically will make him vry good. Once people can figure out how to implement his crazy mechs into 3s and competitively it will be as game changing if not more than zen.
Wow! He can do this in a 1V1........ cool do it in standard 3s against some of the best teams in the world..... then ill be impressed.... Dont get me wrong im not saying the kid isnt good.... he is.... but those freestyle mechanics dont mean shit in what is supposed to be a team based game.....
Pogo's was one of the funnest mechanics to learn. I started doing them WAY back when Pulse Muiricles was perfecting them, and using the Ripper. At the time I learned them just for fun, but it's so cool now after all these years to see it used in more competitive scenarios.
How in the hell is his server so fucking consistent??? I can't get ANY of that shit to work consistently without modded controllers... anything not kbm is hacks.
while dark makes mistakes because he’s excessively flashy and mechanical, overdoing it is what has allowed him to stretch the limits of his mechanics. it’s tempting to tell him to chill out a bit when he makes a mistake as a result of being too flashy but that same behavior is what has allowed him to discover new opportunities to use each mechanic. really excited to see where this kid is a year or 2 down the line when he’s steamrolling pros with psychos and pogos every game.
I’ve played with dark a few times, great 2s teammate, it’s odd because when he plays with high level players he’s not as unstoppable as you make him seem
