me too, Excited to see how these (15ABT) compare to Alto 15 and QSC CP12, or even K12.2... Went to a local guitar center but they didn't have it on display. With 90 degree horizontal coverage it sounds really promising.
Hi, I bought ICOA 12 A. I was skeptical at first, but after the test I was very pleasantly surprised, the sound is above expectations ... a very balanced sound. The price is excellent. I'm happy with the purchase!
I ordered 15 A BT cuz I heard these at an outdoor event and I really couldn't believe how incredible they sounded. Here's my take.... if I needed speakers for small club, bar, tighter venues INSIDE, these don't have the clarity of sound at closer range that I felt my previous Alto's had. I only ordered 1 of these speakers because I wasn't sure if I'd like them. I teach tennis and wanted to try this speaker on the courts OUTSIDE. The sound of this single speaker outside is simply incredible. I fill 6 courts with music (of course louder at one end), but the bass and the volume is amazing. I know we normally buy speakers in pairs, but for my purposes outdoor sports I feel this one speaker would accommodate a couple hundred people over 4-6 tennis courts easily.
I really appreciate how you explain things. Your videos are super informative & well articulated. I'm a Karaoke DJ & you have totally isnpired me to take the plunge & get some serious speakers for my show, thank you. You rock!
Great Speakers I Have The 15 Inch Pair Of These Icoa As Well As A Pair Of 15 Subwoofer Icoa. I Made A Sound Comparison Vs Eon 15 Pair. For Me Icoa Wins🏆 Jbl Eon Has Clear Sound Icoa Has More Bass
If you spend any time next to pa speakers, you never really get a balance sound hi to low decause of the size, but the icoa is right on 3ft or 20ft hi to low right on the mark.
I might be wrong, but coaxial speakers used to be refereed to as dual concentric in UK. I had a pair of 12" monitors back in the 90's which were similar, the twitter was equal in its dispersion though, hence my slight doubt as to whether coaxial and dual concentric is the same thing. None the less, this looks like a great product.
@@douglasjames4307 I know the one you mean, but it wasn’t that. This was home made. Likely from the Fane loudspeaker design book. The driver itself, I’m not sure what brand it was. Was so long ago can’t remember if it sounded any good. I suspect it didn’t but I didn’t know any better back then but it fitted a purpose.
had coaxial in the UK since as long as i can remember, (certainly in my cars anyway). Not sure coaxial in this type of speaker is realistically important to be honest. Its more of an audiophile thing in my opinion (reproducing all frequencies on the same axis), rather than on a loud PA system. But I'm certainly interested in these speakers regardless, if it helps with clarity and imaging on them then great.
@@moebetta72 Coaxial speakers generally have more consistent (or uniform) directivity (less beaming than a conventional 2 way speaker) especially at the crossover point as the listener (or performer) moves off-axis.
Great review , I’ve decided to get a pair of 15’s as a backup set or room fill if needed. Heck, I may even keep one with me behind the dj booth as a monitor. Not all of us can afford a $2,000 pair of speakers, these look like they’re with a shot 👍🏽
Just DJ'd an event for the first time with a pair of the 15" ICOA by LD. 1st Impressions: Warm sounding, plenty of low end, amazing signal at medium levels, do not push these at high levels during dance - the compressor /limiter will kick in and automatically reduce the signal to half level volume. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? During the dance set the bride, aka client, asked me to turn it up when I was already pushing them at max. I'm very skeptical at the 128 db volume rating. We can do product reviews all day but unless the DJ is doing the review after a live set, I think the review is at best marginal. I do not recommend DJ'ing a set with these unless paired with the 18" ICOA sub. With out the sub I think these have to work to hard to rock a party. Just my 2 cents after 15 years in the game.
L'acoustics is using coaxial monitors/tops since 1989 and never went back. Tannoy invented the coaxial speaker, but l'acoustics was the first to implement this in the live industry. Stage monitors in the pro audio industrie are mostly coaxial these days. That Being said, it's good your explaining coaxial speakers. I don't know if you explained it wel because you lost me after the introduction.
Awesome explanation island 🏝️ man. Perfect! 👌 Yes I plan to buy a pair. ? Do you know if amp gets hot. Don't see any air cooling on the back. Thanks great video as always. 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌!
