The Future of the X-Men: Jonathan Hickman's X-Men | Seminal Moments: Part 5 

The hype is real for Hickman on making the X-Men the top tier franchise again! A New Age of Mutants has begun!

I get the feeling that this run is going to come into play for when the X-Men are introduced in the MCU.

Ironically, this is the first huge thing coming out of Marvel that's genuinely excited me since Hickman's Avengers and Secret Wars. Let Hickman make his magic.

First comic I’ve been excited for in a long while.

Hickman is the best writer in mainstream comics. His X-Men is going to be legendary. Along with Cleremont and Morrison, i think we haveour next "Legendary" X-Men era ahead.

This has me so excited and afraid at the same time. I love a good shake up and look forward to whatever direction this franchise will be steered. I have been an x men fan from the 80s and have never given up on them and have read almost every run up until this point. I get a feeling whatever they do now will possibly dictate how the X Men will be portrayed in the MCU on screen going forward.

I’m really excited for this. I’m ready to see what they come up with!

Ahh, 3 years ago... When we were hyped for Hickman's great epic. We followed the breadcrumbs, consumed every issue, theorized about where it would all go. And in the end? Well, nothing ever really ends. "To be continued forever..."

Thank you Marvel for continuing to have the X Men still popular. I'm ready for the future for both the main universe which is 616 universe and soon the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. Karma on Ike Perlmutter when he tried to get rid of them years ago and failed.

I want to know what Claremont, Byrne Lobdell, Bendis, Brubaker, and Morrison has to say about Hickman's epic run in the X-Men.

Just ordered the House of X/Powers of X Hardcover. I can't wait to read the book. Jonathan Hickman is one of the greatest writer of the decade.

Soooo excited for this run! I hope this works! I hope this is the next Claremont/Morrison run!

I loved it. Got me back into reading X-Men after a decade. (Just like Morrisons New X-Men.)

I’m pretty certain now the girl with the soul sword and the red nightcrawler are the x-men’s descendants. The girl looks like maybe a possible daughter of Dani and Piotr and the red nightcrawler the son of Kurt. The preview has these mutants being hunted by masked humans and sentient future robots. The preview said the two mutants have to “make it back” and that humans “lost their souls a long time ago”, I think this implies the new unexplained mutants are from a dark future and going back in time to prevent this future from happening

Ok, i’m sold ! Looking forward to this.

I really can't wait for this! Hickman did a great job with ff and avengers, he will give back the x men to their former glory!

Hickman's run on F4 was the best scifi story I ever read, and the only thing it competes with is his Avengers run. He's the best there is, and I'll be buying this story as it unfolds. Make Mine Marvel!

So, has anyone figured out yet what Kitty Pryde's importance is in all of this? I take it she is the brunette on the covers and some of the interior art that almost looks like it puts her at odds with Professor X (?). Still trying to figure that piece out still.

Oh, how I’d love to purchase the issues individually. But, the issues are a tad on the expensive side. Gonna have to wait for the TPB unfortunately.

So, does this mean we may have hope to believe that we're not just gonna have another story of the mutant population being decimated, the X-men on the brink of extinction, hunted by sentinels/humans, only to find a way to allow new mutants to be born again? You know, the same story we've been getting on repeat for the past 10 years?

X-men have been pretty dead as of late, they are my favorite team of characters ever, I’m so excited to this relaunch of the ground work , that will set the stage for many more stories to come...not mention their introduction into the MCU...it’s about time.😎👏🏼☺️

Hickman shines doing big teams. I never got why Marvel have him characters they want to help fix and make more interesting. For instance hey you know how some fans dislike Carol Danvers say here if you do Carol Danvers we'll give 2 teams of your choosing and you can change their status quo for a bit.

I want to be excited. I want to be all joyful. However I have to contain that as I am not quite sure what the direction will be or if my favorite X-Man will be devalued to prop up another. I love Storm more than any other character in comics. There is a special love for her, Captain America and Spiderman. I don't want to get excited and be let down. Will Storm be a less powerful version of herself? Will she get the development she's been lacking in years? The recent black panther comics had her ascend to Godhood which was a natural progression for her. Will she be stripped of that? Will Jonathan hickman finally develop her energy perception abilities to levels I've always known they were capable? Will he finally confirm her on panel with the one sentence most of her die hard fans have been waiting to read for years ' Storm is an Omega Level Mutant....'? Can we have that? All kinds of things running through my mind. I also care for Psylocke, Rogue and Pixie deeply. Colosuss also need some serious development. Sorry about this lengthy comment. Storm fans have been in the doghouse for far too long. Such a character with a rich history and an exquisite one at that should not be held back. Jean Grey, Wolverine, Cyclops, Emma Frost, Beast have had back to back developments. Even a character like X-23. Storm, Pixie, Anole, Colossus etc need some love and care. Also I never make anything about color because I hate when ppl do that. However I must ask. Why is every Omega Level Mutant Caucasian? It's always bothered me how unlikely that setting would be. That needs to change. It's unrealistic and I know that's what comics do but attempt to be balanced for a change. Anyway I hope the X-Men take their rightful place as Marvel's top team

I might be trippin here but Hickman is looking a lot like X-man, who, you know, just kinda reset the x-men in the new Uncanny run. Just a weird coincidence.

0:43 looks like the rumors that the Xavier Academy wasn't gonna play a part in this are unfounded: those are definitely mutant students with Jean Grey. AGAIN, not a fan of her being put back in her 1960s Marvel Girl costume.

Watching this again, it's pretty annoying that they're ending the Krakoan era of X-Men. It's one of the best things to happen to the world of X-Men in a long time.
