Hi Takeshi. I just saw that the new E8 train set has been produced and is being tested. You are why I noticed this news. Thanks for all of your hard work. We hope you are doing well.
This is what happens when you leave an E3 and an E6 unattended without protection (an E2 may have sneaked in on the act too!) Once again you have produced another extremely informative video for us English speaking JR fans!
Make sense, its only 20mins travel time between Utsunomiya and Koriyama and10-15 mins travel time between Koriyama and Fukushima. The E8 will not be able to travel at 320km/h for long, even if it could. That reduction in top speed is not hugely significant and its still faster than the E3 series, so JR would rather go for capacity than outright speed.
Coming back to this video I suddenly realize maybe there will be a short time where we see YAMABIKO E2 + TSUBASA E8. Configurations for trains will exclusively be E2 for YAMABIKO. E7 is too long to couple with TSUBASA. I think, slowly E2 NASUNO will be replaced by E7, I think after E2 disappears we will see YAMABIKO E5 + TSUBASA E8. Also, because taking KOMACHI to Akita is more expensive since its operated together with HAYABUSA. Why not operate KOMACHI with TSUBASA in the back as a Limited shinkansen so people will not have to change trains? The limited KOMACHI E6 will continue from Shinjo on OU main line EDIT: i found out why😆
@@JPRailcom Thanks! Just an idea, can you do videos on the the history of train service names? Example: Yamabiko. Why is the service given this name? How it started out, the trains, etc. Can be non-shinkansen service too like Azusa etc.
@@JPRailcom The E7 trainsets do also replace the E4 sets on the Joetsu Shinkansen, while 10 of them needed to be scrapped already because of flood damages. How does it all work out numerically?
