Windows Server has been a brother of normal Windows Desktop for years. In this video, we'll be taking a look at Windows Server 2025, the next version of Windows Server. Subscribe - bit.ly/BubHubSUBSCRIBE Twitter - bit.ly/BHNewTwitter
Thats really cool though on how you use windows server as your main version of windows! Ive only seen most server computers like at bussinesses. And in one of my schools they used windows server as the main os in our pcs if i remember 🤔
@@bagasanggaI don’t think that is a valid reason, not all servers are in a closet anyway. Microsoft does not know if your server is in a closet, so they cannot put any impacts in the OS. What’s the difference between a windows server on your desk or a normal windows on your desk, in terms of functionality in the os.
Even if you open cmd from the windows tools, it will still open Windows terminal. That is because that classic black console is not the command prompt. cmd is just a text shell. The classic cmd window is called the windows console host- that is basically the original Windows terminal application. To use the legacy “cmd”, you’ll need to set default terminal application to use the windows council host (conhost.exe) So in summary CMD is not being replaced with terminal. CMD never had a graphical user interface in the first place. The only thing changing is default termina is no longer conhost.exe May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.
@@ilamparithi. I started doing so with iOS 17. my typing on glass is painfully slow. With iOS 17 dictation has been updated such that the keyboard does not disappear when you dictate. This makes a huge difference. And now almost always use dictation when I’m on the phone. Of course physical keyboard rules. May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.
What if Copilot is on the server edition just in case you forgot something, you could ask it, or maybe you could change settings on the server with copilot, or it is a Windows 11 leftover.
I don't know about your school's system, but I'm pretty sure your school would still stick to the old version until Microsoft ends its support or the system has become unstable.
Running Windows Server 2025 on my HP DL360pG8 with 128G ram and there is no Copilot installed well..... just checked. so many it was just a Earler build with it from its 11 Base.
microsoft doing this because theres still people/compaines exists that use windows server, it could be low like a linux desktop usage percent but it is *still* being used, if not microsoft is not going to release new versions, because it cost money and time, new version does not drop from the air like a magic. I have used linux too, but theres no need to fight. (i still use it but not on my main pc)
Microsoft can try as hard as they wont, their operating system is too bloated and slow to ever take over the server and enterprise space. They simply cannot beat better options such as Debian, REHL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), and especially not the upcoming distro from OpenELA (Open Enterprise Linux Association).
Same as these Linux distros, they can't just beat Windows. All operating systems have their own pros and cons, and the choice all comes to the preferences of companies/individuals.
@@MaiLayre Ah yes "pros and cons" Linux pros: You own it, a corporation does not, tldr do what you want with it Linux "cons": You own it and it wont treat you like a baby, dont be stupid Windows "pros": nothing about Windows is a pro, some extra software supports it but that has nothing to do with Windows. That extra software support is rapidly becoming less and less. Windows cons: everything about it
People use Windows servers so they can use other Microsoft things more easily, like Active Directory. There are programs which emulate Active Directory in Linux (Samba) - however it isn’t exactly the same as the Microsoft version.
@@theairacobra That's cool! Though, I'm sticking with Windows on my gaming PC for full compatibility with certain games I play, but later I'll get myself a seperate workstation that will definitely get Linux (Arch).
@@MaiLayre RU-vid being the amazing platform it is nuked my comment, but thats amazing, arch is a pretty hard distro, i have like 2 years experience by now and i use arco which is friendlier, no need for a separate workstation, if you canjust get a dedicate drive for windows (linux and windows cant really be in the same disk because sometimes windows decides to nuke the entire bootloader) and about game compatibility, the cases where games dont work are very few, i personally have had no issues with incompatibilities so far
the whole concept of windows server is so dumb, why the hell would you ever need to waste resources by having a full desktop environment on a SERVER. just use linux smh
There are still companies, especially old ones, that still rely on the Windows infrastructure. So far I know, you'll get a choice of installing Windows Server with Desktop GUI or without Desktop GUI, depending on the preference and requirements when installing Windows Server.
